A small quick review.

well... wow!! until now i had always been one to stick with the stock fan, only once had i ever changed a fan and that was with my amd x2 when they first came out,

i noticed my q6600 was running at 50'c to 60'c on half load and i was not too impressed so i ordered a Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro :D

i am impressed!

now running at 26'c idle and 35'c under half load 40'c full load :) what a drop!!

i know most people here probaly have water cooling or zalaman coolers but for a budget £15 cpu cooler you can't go wrong with this! :D

anyone who still has a stock fan go and get your credit/debit card and buy one of these now :D

ohh and it is hardly audible compared to the stock intel fan :)

Not sure if I should get one of these or for Thermalright Ultima 90 for my E4300 to try and reach 3GHz. The Ultima costs £25 + cost of 120mm fan so ~£30 whereas the AC7 costs half that, fan included

I got a mate who has a E4300 under a F7 Pro and hit 3Ghtz without trying! Come to think of it, he lives on here, hell prob back himself up somewhen soon!

Go for the Coolermaster Hyper TX which is on offer for £15 delivered, slightly better than a Freezer Pro and quieter ... a steal at that price.

Could you post a picture of it fitted?

Here you go. Its a stunning cooler. Setup in sig never goes above 50c under load.

Best £16 Ive ever spent on a PC part.

I have heard nothing but the highest praise for the Artic freezer 7, and I know OCUK also recommend this cooler. I have seen some posts that say for a quad core buy something better, but I know there are some people out there that are amazed at the resutls when used with quad core CPU's, it must be a great heatsink and an absolute bargin too. :)

i cant wait to get my Freezer 64! come on second class post...

is it not better to point the fan towards the rear case fan? looks like yours is facing forward. have to say this has been puzzling me somewhat as to the direction of the fan as it does not point towards the case panel!!

Nope because the fan sucks in air and blows it out the other side. The fan behind then takes it out of the case.

Temps under full load below.

here we go sorry about the bad pictures, stupid bright blue fan at the back of the case!

and yes the fan should face the fan at the back so that it sucks the hottest air straight out. if the other way around you are spraying diffuse warm air all over your memory and chipset which is not a good idea!!

So does the fan suck air through the heatsink then? I'm yet to use mine but plugging it in it certainly feels like its blowing air through the heatsink to me.
