GFX card for a Video editing PC

Will be building a PC designed purely for Video editing/viewing (Xmas Present for my dad) and wondered what GFX card would suffice, this machine wont be used for gaming and will use a TV card for video input.

Have a look around at the 8500gt's, 2400xt's and the like. Would think they would be fine. I don't think a video card is as important as CPU, though you would need something that supports HD resolutions and HDTV out.

Cheers, its not going to be a monster machine although once clocked to 3 gig it will eat his current AMD Athlon Xp2400 based rug for breakfast lunch and tea.
