if that was me id me out the door in a flash and grab him or her and wait till the idiot parent comes , then if they start call the police , surely you can catch a kid after say 30 seconds they have done it?

no cuz I heard a thud, and then a load of giggles, so i went outside to inspect and i just seen them run around the corner. I cudnt really be arsed to do anything tbh, there was to many of em anyway, there wuz about 15 of em.

its unfortunate, but the days of innocent trick or treating kids with nice responsible older sibbling or parent seem long gone in some areas

What? Everything is anti social these days it seems, 5-10yr olds antisocial while trick or treating? get a grip, I admit there is an exception with the older ones doing a bit of mischieving but don’t go branding everyone with the same brush.
