just had my front window smashed by little kids...

No....

Just because someone throws something at your window it’s automatically assumed it’s meant to break it? get a grip, an orange is hardly a stone or something that is designed to break a window.

So what if I threw an orange at you, but it broke your nose?
I'm not at fault because I didn't intend it to break?
The point is surely that I shouldn't be throwing the thing in the first place, whether the intention is there to break something or not.

little ****s

I had an egg thrown at my car. If i had seen who had done it, i swear i would have hurt them.

Fool? its not me who cant read.

No, but you can't spell, so you're close.

Trick or treating was the product of a more innocent, bygone era where kids weren't foul-mouthed little ****s who were willing to vandalise property if you didn't give them anything. Old and vulnerable people are subject to harrassment every year because of Halloween, damn right trick or treating should be banned nowadays, same as fireworks being sold in shops.

not read the whole thread but i cant believe how many initial responses there were from grumpy old gits. lighten up eh. im sorry your window was broken but im sure they didnt mean to break it. and tbh i hate this culture where everything should be banned just because a few idiots spoil it for everyone. halloween is excellent its the one night a year girls get to dress up in barely any clothes and kids get to go around dressed up having fun. no problem with it here. lets just ban kids from doing anything!!!! seriously lets start a government petition....not.come on guys live a little

do any of you remember what it was like to be 10? yes i know if you throw an orange at someone and you break their nose its your fault but thats because we fully understand the meaning of consequences. they're only 10, they are learning.

Show me a spelling mistake other than the intended one?

They throw something at a window, not expecting it to break?

Can I take your leg and hit it with a sledge hammer?

Sorry sir I just wanted to be annoying, I didn't actually think It would break.

No... no I can't... and neither should they.

The same thing happened to my mums house last Hallowe'en... luckily we spotted them and we knew who they were.

Did you get a look at their faces Yanto?

I'm one of the anti-Hallowe'en people myself, don't like the idea at all... I hate walking home thinking I'm going to get mugged or egged for no apparent reason.

I'm all for this opt in idea... but I don't think anyone would actually listen to it.

didn't see there faces, it was too dark.

I forgot what day it was. The doorbell rang and I thought it was the Mrs forgetting her keys. I was cooking and went to the door with a tea towel in one hand and a 12 inch chefs knife in the other.

The little lad in the scream mask was fine but the girl probably his sister looked really worried. Normally I ignore the door on halloween. That made me feel guilty though and I gave them half my hoarde of sweets :(

If someone stuck an orange through your front window, or smashed your windscreen and 2 others then started on you when you confronted them - would you be so up for "living a little". This thread is just another in a string of threads which all centre around people who are thoroughly brassed off with teen scum who seek to do nothing other than make other's lives a misery. I'm willing to bet that the majority of said brassed-off-ees grew up in the 70's and 80's and know what it's like to have respect for the generation above them even if it was to only run in fear instead of turning round and giving verbal - or worse.

If there's a petition, I'll sign it. I'm sick to death of this lack-lustre "it's not our problem" approach this country appears to be taking towards it's spiralling youth.

Kids up to the age of 10, normally accompanied by parents then yep fair enough.

Scumbag lowlife idiots out to cause trouble, smash windows, damage properties and cars under the guise of "harmless fun"... well. This is what's waiting for the low end of the gene pool at my front door tonight:

Got 5 airsoft guns loaded up ready (Rifles & MG's), none so far and none came last year :D

I grew up in the 90's but still
and PoleY_15 don't even try and tell me that ten year olds are still learning, sure they are, but doesn't mean there stupid.

Do I remember what it was like ot be 10? Yes. I didn't swear, wouldn't dream of vandalising anything, and was polite and respectful of my elders. I also knew the difference between right and wrong, even at that tender age.

How many kids can you say the same for nowadays?

Have you never been to a pub or club before :p
There's mucho-scantaly-cladism on a Saturday night out mate ;)

Whether someone is 10 or 110, they know that throwing something at someone could hurt them... And they know that throwing something at a window could potentially result in it breaking.

And yes indeed I do remember what it was like to be 10, but I can honestly say that when I was 10 I didn't go around throwing things at windows just to see what would happen. Or to annoy someone.

Have I led a sheltered life? No.
Was I taught right and wrong as a child? Yes.

Sorry, it was a bit of a sweeping generalisation. I forget that my little brother was a child of the 90's and he's absolutely peachy.

Point remains though, there used to be an air of respect that has long since vanished. :(

Without reading the whole post, I can't believe some people being fine with kids smashing windows because it was an orange they threw or because it was halloween. It's criminal damage, and you don't have to be a rocket scientist or even out of primary school to realise that anything with a bit of weight behind it shouldn't be thrown at glass...
It's like the other topic recently where people dismissed eggs as anything but harmless fun, "oh an egg hitting your window, impossible it would break the glass" , "aren't kids hilarious"...
