On monday i ordered:

  • LaCie Black 500GB USB2.0 External Hard Drive (301285)
  • GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC2-6400C4 800MHz Ultra Low Latency DDR2 Dual Channel Kit (GX22GB6400UDC)
  • Gigabyte GA_P35C_DS3R (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 & DDR3 Motherboard
  • Intel Core 2 Duo E2160 "LGA775 Conroe" 1.80GHz (800FSB) - Retail
  • Tuniq Tower 120 CPU Cooler (Socket 478/754/939/940/AM2/LGA775)
  • EVGA GeForce 8800 GT 512MB Superclocked GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (512-P2-E802-AR)

Well first of all i got hit by the whole 8800GT supply issue. Then today i decided that as i had a whole day available tomorrow i'd switch my eVGA Superclocked for an OcUK one instead so that i could build my new system tomorrow upon delivery.

Anyway the order continued on its way through the process, then returned to being in the queue in the warehouse again. Now when i look up all the items that were in stock earlier, 2 of them are now also out of stock (the motherboard and CPU cooler). So now i've got the cheap OcUK 8800GT option rather than the eVGA Superclocked and no doubt that it'll be out of stock and the eVGA will be instock tomorrow. I only changed the order so that i could have it shipped today :(

Next thing you know it'll go missing in transit, then be broken when it arrives, then i'll get charged twice. I really thought i'd have a nice new system by now

(not slating OcUK, just my luck)

Or you could switch to the abit ip35 motherboard and thermalright ultra 120 and get that delivered...?

Don't forget a sharkoon 120mm 2000 fan.

Any particular reason why you ordered an external drive... oh, wait a minute, that is the one with the built in 16MB cache 500GB Samsung drives ;)

I ordered an external drive cuase i just wanted to use it for storage (music, movies, photos etc) but i have been toying with the idea of scrapping the case and just putting it in the machine.

I will change the mobo and Cooler tomorrow if they dont get any in, but its just by the time the order progress changed to 'queued' it was too late. I rung up and got told the was nothing that could be done till tomorrow :(

So.... for the same price, is the Abit ip35 the best option? and the thermalright?

hi there.

We are short on EVGA, try the BFG cards, also i seen some asus cards in stock aswell.

I know how you feel, this has happened to me with my last two builds, both from different suppliers. Just bad luck I think, something always seems to go out of stock. And like you I always try to plan it for a day when I dont have work.

HI there

The OcUK cards are still in stock, we had more arrive today.

OcUK has had an unexpected large volume of orders, making us extremely busy these last few days. It would appear we've had a business boost from the 8800 GT launch but generall business has also shot up causing us to get a little behind.

If you order does not show shipped by 2pm tomorrow then do call and speak to Phil Meredith and he will get your order sorted out to make sure you do get your order by the weekend and you are happy.

Gibbo, do you mean my 'current' order (with the 2 items which are currently out of stock) or do you mean if i ring up to change the out of stock items (motherboard and cooler) and it still hasnt shipped by 2pm THEN call up again?

Are you getting more of the mobo and cooler in tomorrow then? Also theres only a couple of OcUK Geforce 8800's left, if they sell out in the morning before my order is processed what will happen then?

Thanks for your personal response

Haha this keeps on changing. Now the Cooler is in stock AND has a new photo with its description :)

So it's just the motherboard now. So Gibbo are you expecting these tomorrow and will there be a OcUK 8800 set aside till they come in. Or should i ring up in the morning and change it to the other Motherboard to gaurentee my 8800?

Hehe lots of questions i know :D
