Don't bother with the 8800gts, get a 8800 GT, these are the new cards and are distroying the GTS'

Just look though the threads on this forum and your'll see,

and the 512 version of the GT will do fine at your ress:)

It will be fine. I have an XFX 8800gts XT (Factory oc'd version) no probs with it. Partnered with Dell 20" widescreen Q6600 @3.2 and Vista 64 & 2gb ram.

3d mark 06 is 10600 ish

GPU temps 63/65c load
CPU temps 65/66c load

A 320mb card will be 'ok' at 1680x1080, but the memory might throw in a few issues in games that are heavily loaded with textures.

Crysis will fall flat on its face at 1680x1050 with AAx4 on a 320meg card. However up that to 512 (8800GT) and all is well. Anyway the 8800GT is cheaper and faster so why go for the 8800GTS 320 anyway. Going up to 512meg on a card gives you enough headroom incase you ever upgrade to a 24inch 1920x1080 screen.

I already own a 320mb card - i bought it approx 4-6 months ago
i do like the card as its overclocked running at 640mhz core and 930mhz memory

i wish at the time id gone for the 640mb version but i assumed 320mb would be enough

im in a dilema as crysis demo isnt running quite as nice as id like - it could be my proessor (athlon x2 3800+ running at 2.4ghz) but then i see in some forums i dont think the demo is using multicores properly

to upgrade is going to be approx £600 to go to quad core rig so i dont want to skimp on the gfx if that is then going to be the bottleneck
