He's not talking about choice as in who you choose to have sex with, but choice as in your sexuality. They are different things.

It was a tongue in cheek comment to point out the rediculousness of the West Boro Baptists church stance. I thought the humour would be somewhat obvious. In future I shall do an entire line of smilies just to get the point across...

As a Christian, I think that this is totally unacceptable (what the church did that is, not the fine), personally I don't agree with homosexuality, but going into a funeral saying that someone is going to hell, and blaming it on someone inocent, doesn't make sense to me, is just out of order, this kinda thing is going to give the church a bad name.

I would argue that your sexuality isn't a choice. It's a preference. I never chose to be straight.

Exactly, say for instance, I wanted to become gay. How would I do it?

Sleep with men? Well, that'll make me a straight guy who's slept with men. How do I physically alter my brain so I'm aroused by men? You can't. It's your brain. It'd be like loving the taste of chocolate, but then trying to physically change yourself so you find the taste repulsive. I don't see how it can be done?
