Hi just a quick question, Going to get a new processor Q6600 shortly but was contemplating some more memory as well.
I remember there being an issue with this board and 4gb of memory, as the memory is so cheap now im seriously thinking of going from 2gb to 4gb and wondering if there are still issues with this board and 4gb or whether this has been fixed in a bios update

Cheers in advance

Don't run it on a P5N-e.

Upgrade your Mobo, Even more if you want to over clock, the P5N-e isn't set up for the power that the Quad will need.

So i wouldn't worrie about memory. Being a problem, i'd be more worried aobut the quad.

Sell the p5n-e and get a p35 chipset board :)

Im in a similar situation and will most likely get a quad for my board, its on the supported CPU list on the asus website and from what ive read online it will do 3ghz easily in the asus board, but i agree its not idea so a new board will also be on my upgrade list after the cpu

Really dont want to replace the board , may just get the quad and see how I get on, id be quite happy to run it at stock speed but if I can over clock a little then thats a bonus

You seem to be able to work-around the PC6400 4gb issue by setting it to 830mhz or above.
