So what are you getting the missus?

Surely you become one part, and thus, she becomes your other half, once you are together in marriage. Before then, no dice.

Incorrect. You are trying to apply cold logic to slang language. Fail.

"just around the corner"

wtf?

It's TWO months away! Hardly just around the corner.

It is for some people. For some people its really close to Xmas. Others, like me, don't start their shopping till a few days before.

Mind you, in Harrods Christmas starts on the first Monday in August.

Missus is slang for Mrs, Mrs is your wife, not your girlfriend.

I might get my girlfriend some CD's and stuff. I don't have a missus, becuase I've not married her.

Well for me & the people i know 'missus' is slang for your 'girl' eitherway what does it matter? you knew exactly what the thread meant.

Fail denied. I'm right, you are wrong, marry her if you are that desperate to refer to her using Northern miners slang ;)

Yeah i've just taken a gander at your profile you tend to get into a lot of these 'debates' don't you, slang is slang.

way too early for men to worry about chrimbo presents, you should only buy something on christmas eve :p

But I will start thinking about it. She has way too many shoes, too many handbags and the like.

I don't refer to as the missus, I think it sounds stupid, but you are still wrong. Not that you have the ability to accecpt it though.

Think we both want watches. So basically I'm buying myself a watch and so is she :p

P.S - And missus definately can mean girlfriend or whatever. I don't refer to mine as that but I'll ask other people.
