So what are you getting the missus?

Slang is slang, use it however you want, it's not supposed to be "proper" English anyway so there's not much argument about who's using it right and who's using it wrong - as long as it makes sense it's fine..!

just bought mine one of them nokia n95's on contract for the next 10 million yeard sigh

she previously made a mistake and came off a contract and bought a pos motorola pink thing which is falling apart rapidly.

Surely you become one part, and thus, she becomes your other half, once you are together in marriage. Before then, no dice.

You complain that "Missus" is slang for Mrs and you don't have one, then you go and assume the OP means partner and answer the question anyway (as is clearly expected by the average majority of posters in the thread).

If you're going to be a pedant, do so properly or not at all.

My "missus" who I havent married but know is the person implied read the forums so I'd better not say :D

Mine wants a set of those GHD hairstraighteners, but I'm tempted to get her a DS because I want to play Zelda on it.

I'm loath to pay £100+ for something that essentially performs the same function as a hairbrush.

Oooh, you are on thin ice there... ;)

Hairbrushes don't straighten the hair, and the GHD's are the best you can get, and can be got for under £70 from fleabay :)

she will love you for it, trust me :D

It's the second of November. Christmas is not just around the corner.

Maybe so but it's less than eight weeks away so best to get started before the panic buyers and the inevitable rush. What am I getting the missus, a pearl twinkle ring from her favourite jewellers, Dower and Hall. It's not too much cash so I'll have to see what else there is to buy for her.

With regards to my post further up, the 'missus' has just informed me that she would rather I bought her a DS! Win!
