It had been giving me grief for a while but it was time up and it had to come out. It's been an hour since, my face is still numb, I'm spitting blood and I'm grumpy. I had to have 3 injections since two didn't quite do it. The last injection was in the back of the tooth directly which made my toes curl, nearly as painful as the second injection which was in the roof of my mouth.

Anyway, after a lot of tugging, wrenching, tensing and straining, the dentist pulled the bugger out and showed me it.

...off to spit more blood again now.

Had mine out 5-6 months ago. under a general casue they had to take some jaw bone out to get to the teeth. It hurt like hell.

Some of my face is still numb cause they damaged a nerve doing it.

I felt like crap for a week and couldnt eat well for nearly 2 weeks.

The did offer me general but I asked to do it with local and just pull it out. I may regret it however, it's still very numb and I'm dribbling a lot.

I hate this thread, reminds me of my own mouth, but I've not got round to making a dentist apointment yet.

I think there are suposed to be 4 wisdom teeth? I hope I only have one though as I can only feel one comming through and there is zero space for any more.

damn this thread !! one of my teeth is driving me crazy, think theres a hole in it or some of the fillings come out or something. Drinking or eating anything mildly cold sends a super sharp pain through my head. Im used to sensitive teeth but this is on another level :(

I hope mine won't be as bad as the OP's anyway ;)

Not that I'm in a position to offer medical advice since I'm no dentist and it's against the rules but I'd say you're in MAJOR TROUBLE when they come out. OMGFFS, I'd RUN. The PAIN.

;)

There's some great over the counter stuff to take the pain away, really good stuff that numbs your whole head for over an hour but you know the needle is coming. That tooth needs filling.

I had my right hand side lower wisdom tooth removed under general because it was in such a hard place to reach. I needed to have it taken out as it had started to grow forwards, and would start to push on the tooth in front of it. My wisdom tooth was removed without too much pain, and the one in front of it needed a filling. But I got soooo much toothache from it, that eventually I had it taken out as well... ...on my 29th birthday - best birthday present i've ever bought myself.
Side of my jaw felt funny for about 2 weeks though and I couldn't eat on that side for a few days though.

had mine removed last year, watch out for 'Dry Socket' that is serious pain, it is so bad I won't have my other one removed!

What a pussy ;-)

I had mine out a few monthes ago. Was giving me grief whilst I was away on holiday so I decided to sort it out when I got back. Gave a mate a call up who's an assistant nurse at the dentist and got her to book me an appointment. I only wanted a checkup at the time, hadn't considered the option of having it pulled...

Went in a few days after calling, and lo and behold this mate was sitting in the treatment room with the dentist. Sat on the chair and after an xray and a scan the dentist said he wanted to take it out there and then. I was like 'seriously', 'with her in the room!?'.

Ended up letting him go for it, hurt a fair bit but was out in 5 minutes. Hurt even more so because I didn't dare make any noise or move much in the chair for fear of looking like a tart in front of my mate :p

Was fine after about an hour and the bleeding had stopped - although I guess it's different for everyone depending on the position of the tooth, etc.
