DX10.1
PCI-E 2.0
55nm

Just have to wait for reviews now. :)

775/2400, still 256bit and the same steam processors? Unless this can compete with the GT I cant see people choosing DX10.1 over better performance

me neither, in the blurb it goes on about power saving & pwer/watt ratio. Hardly inspires me this will be a strong performer even against the 8800gt.

so whens R680 due i might hang off until then, lets face it crysis is not running well on the 8800gt, i might skip this generation.

The specifications bit states 3850 which is the pro version. Stock clock of 775 is pretty high means the xt version should come in with a clock near to 900 i would think may make it fast enough.

The power/watt ratio thing is most likely to do with some of the new tech they implemented in the gpu design, read on xtremesystems that they have apparently implemented some mobile cpu technology to reduce power use, which is a good thing imho.

As for the 256bit memory interface, good enough for GT so why should be any different for the ATi card.

Specially at 2.4Ghz, thats well over 60Gb/s of bandwidth more than enough for a vast majority of users, problem with the 2900xt is it had way too much bandwidth little hope of every using it all.

Ever think they may have added the power thing in because they want to assure people that its not the same as the hd2900xt. To me this whole name change is to get away from the 2900 and its bad rep. Some people bought gts which appear these days to be slower than the 2900 just because of the power heat issue.

Hardly doubt it will be faster than a 2900 tbh, if it is, not by much, glad I got an 8800GT, would be well annoyed if I waited then seen some reviews of this card.

Oh right they just happened to jump the gun again...

I reckon they do this on purpose to create hype. Even that won't work with the 8800GT's stealing all the thunder atm :D

The card will perform well, the 2900 performs well just not aswell as its rival.
ATI will still do fine with these just like any other card they release they have there loyal customers and also people who just dont want a nvidia, not everyone is as clued up as people on these forums a lot of these cards are bought by people who think because the specs say it should be better it will be and others that just think because older cards were faster than most these will be to.
they may even turn out to be speedy little things.

When are we gonna see these in UK reviews & on OCuk?

I get paid on the 15th and my finger keeps wanting to click the buy button on a 8800GT but my head says wait a fortnight to see what ATi releases and make an informed decision :p
