Hi, thinking about building a new system and am interested in 4gb ram, now the rest of the PC I decided to go for the best bang for buck stuff so....

Q6600 energy efficient version
Abit ip35 pro
8800GT

What would be the best ram for that & would 4X1gb be better as it's a lot cheaper or would I get low overclocks with that?

For that price I would say so, the 4GB (2GB x 2) stuff is poor at the moment.

It should be OK with the newer boards, just bump up the Northbridge voltage and you should be good to go.

Lol anyone read the last review that product had?

Vista 32 Bit with 4 sticks of that, misleading for ppl less informed.

Don't understand what you're trying to say lol, can you explain fully.

Does vista 32bit works with 4GB? I guess no. What if someone who are less informed decided to purchase 32bit OS along with 4GB of ram, based on that review?

Not sure what this has to do with anything, the OP didn't even mention what OS he had.

Indeed, currently running mine at 540fsb 5-5-5-15 ;)

How long has it been since the last pair died or how long have you been running that. 3 months seems to be the average life span :p

People just dont seem to get it though. Most people on here play games right? Whats the difference in a game with 4gb when your ram is running at 800mhz or 1200mhz? Hardly anything in it! Only benchmarking can tell. Why buy ram which overclocks really well but has very bad reliability and dies oftern? Sure their RMA is good but id rather ram that lasts years.

The OCZ and geil ram is the best for the price. 4gb for 80/90 quid running at 800mhz is great value and you wont need anything faster then that or any more then that for games.

I was running them at 500FSB CAS4 for over 3 months, been running them at 540FSB for about 3 weeks I think.

Stuck them at 2.2v with a 120mm fan blowing over them to keep them cool.
