very poor performance inno3d 8800gt

This is a known problem with some of the 8800GT's Install the drivers from the CD which came boxed with the card and re run the test's, I bet there LOTS higher.

I'm not so sure because I used the nVidia 169.02 on two different machines, on main Core2 Duo rig the card is crippled but on the nForce4/Opteron the drivers work great with the same card?

i can pretty much say the card is fine

just tried it in another system with the latest drivers

i'll try the psu in the other system to see if that works or cripples it

looks like its the maximus board and psu

if the psu works in another system then its got to be the motherboard thats playing up

do i need to install latest x38 chipset drivers or something
im just thinking i might be missing something like drivers

I'm using the 169.02 with my e6300 @ 2.8 and I am getting just under 12k.

It really is a problem with the Quattro and certain 8800 series cards. You should try and get in touch with Antec to see if they will agree to hook you up with a newer revision. Or you could sell it on to someone who has an ATI card before buying a PSU you know will work.

Heres a thought guys (long shot), have you ran driver cleaner before you installed the new drivers? If so, are you running a Nvidia chipset and accidently driver cleaned the nvidia chipset drivers away? That would maybe explain it, although i admit, its a very long shot.

ok good news, it is the pos Antec thats causing the problems

tried another cheap generic, looks like a q-tec lol

and its working fine, before when i used rivatuner and savd settings it would just go back to defaults, now they stick, damn this antec lol

defaults:

*** glad u got it sorted..

RE : PSU for me all i have ever used has been targan 480W ( maybee getting long in tooth now ) ,, but my pc is on nearly 24/7 constant with 3 HD's .. 4 case fans etc.. super PSU's

how are the hx 620W psu's?

still looks like it has split rails at 18w each

Corsair, or more correctly Seasonic, have a pretty unique approach to multi-rail PSUs. No over-current protection kicks in if you breach the stated 18A max for a single rail so the hx620w ends up behaving as if it just has one large 50A rail.

i got Tagan 600 watts dual engine/pci-E and used to have tagan 480watts and mate has 700watts and its makes some noise but heard corsair is nice and quiet.

Tagan is great PSU and their customer service is great

sounds great

whats better, the TX or HX

i can pick one of these today

Corsair 620W HX V2 for approx £90

or

Corsair 750W TX Series for £90 (which i dont think is modular)

*Pats his Tagan 480W*

These tagans are beasts! Corsair and OCZ are pretty good bad boys, although I thought one of them (cant remember which) is just a rebranded Tagan anyway?
