Will the below get me 3.0ghz
Core 2 Duo E2180
Gigabyte GA-G31MX-S2 iG31
Arctic Cooling AC-FRZ-7P Freezer 7 Pro
Kingston 2GB KIT (2X1GB) DDR2 667MHz
Antec 380w smartpower

thanks

3000Mhz : 10(multi) = 300Mhz, 300x4(quad pumped) = 1200Mhz FSB. That motherboard has standard compatibility for 1066Mhz FSB so you when you are going to overclock you will need a overclock of 134/4 = 33.5Mhz on the FSB. I personally don't know if that motherboard can handle it. I'd say it's not that much of a FSB overclock but hey :D

board for under £50 would give me the best chance of 3.0ghz
Tbh the E21*0 series don't overclock very well on anything other than p35 boards anyway, often show up to 10c higher temps for some reason.

Get a gigabyte DS3R imo, cheap and good value, but still out your price range.

Ye or maybe the board I have! Don't know if you need all the extra bells and whistles. I live in the Netherlands though and I couldn't find it on overclockers but I'm sure more shops have it in UK?

I thought it has a bus speed of 1333 MHz

If the board won't reach 3.0 would it do 2.7?

Also i can get a Gigabyte GA-P35C-DS3R for £64.This the one you recommend?

thanks
