169.02 vs 169.04

Does 169.04 give slightly better performance, also does overclocking in rivatuner work with this driver version?

To be fair the threads are a bit massive now. You need Rivatuner 2.06 m8 & it'll work with all 169.xx driver

169.04 gives me a slightly better overclock with my Inno3D 8800GT.

I got a very slight boost from the 04's over the 02's, we're talking maybe 100 3dmarks at the most for me.

The 02's gave me the biggest performance boost over the last few drivers and the 04's seem a fraction better, certainly not slower anyway.

Reading in my Monthly PC mag and they have tested a QX6850 with 2 BFG GTXs in SLI and its scored 15906 3D marks, and their results were between 4-5% quciker when running it with Windows XP opposed to Vista

No, it's would "have". I put quotes around the word I wanted to emphasize. Apostrophes can be used emphatically.

I got A*A* in English Language/English literature so I should know... No offence...

I just put these drivers on and 3D Mark 06 crashes every time now.

I'll reinstall them when I can be bothered.

The 169.04 drivers gave me slightly better fps in the crysis sp demo benchmark.

30fps 1680x1050 all high no AA

None taken as it could have easily been a mistake. I can't judge on what word you were wanting to emphasize lol, so the "so I should know" remark is a bit obvious as only you would know what word you were wanting emphasized. My friends don't phone me every Wednesday and Saturday for to pick their lottery numbers for them either

Smsmasters apostrophised the correct word, as the word "would" wasn't the incorrect one; it was the word "of" that was incorrect.
