Is Rapidshare worth it?

Is it worth it? Occasionally i find stuff that i want to download but have to wait ages to. What sites use rapidshare as its generally forums for live music mixes that i find and not much else

Well a lot of illegal downloading sites use Rapidshare, which could be benefical if your into that sort of thing ;). Its pretty cheap to try for a month. I have had it a few times, but always find myself stuck for something to download cause i couldn't be bothered waiting with my slowish 2mb broadband.

If you have a fast connection, then i would try it and see if you use it much.
 
If you download enough, it certainly is. It work out at about £4 a month, which is buttons considering just how much stuff is on there. If you can find the stuff you want, the actual downloads are much quicker than torrents for me.
 
Well if you find your self wanting to download a lot then ofcorse its worth the money. But its not really that much money anyway so its no real dent in your pocket.
 
Well worth it, much easier to use than torrents and so much can be had. Need to look hard for decent sites though ;)
 
i used to have it, but i couldn't find links to the downloads i was after so it was wasted :(
 
Definitely worth it if you download certain things!
Me and a mate at uni have split an account between us, £2 each a month for 5GB a day.

There are some quality websites out there for RS.com links, can't wait to get home on 20mb though, I'm sure I will use the bandwidth there :D
 
Yeah I've had a subscription for a year now and it's worth it, it rarely tops out my speed though on 20mb NTL, I think i'm gonna give newsgroups a look next.

Are you using a download manager with split downloading? That should speed it up.

In your settings go to 'Servers' and put the simultanious downloads to 1. Cause if its at 10 it will try and download 10 files at once i think. Under 'Connection' i put the other simultanious downloads to 3. I think this is how many connections/parts you split to into like you do in Flashgot.

I done this all of a tutorial, so i probably haven't told you it properly, but it seems to work for me.
