Italian Mafia capo de tutti capi arrested

'capo de tutti capi' sounds like an ice cream :)

Good news on the arrest, one less scumbag on the planet.

pfffft he'll never get convicted.

The previous top boss is already rotting in jail. Why would this one be any different.

Gotta wonder what he's capable of/willing to do given that in 20 years he went from a nobody bodyguard to boss of bosses.

Its the mafia, they probably set the previous "top boss" up to go in there.

If they dont want that guy to go to prison they'll make it so, the whole world is run on corruption and organised crime, why is this any different?

The mafia are punished too much these days. Theres far worse things the peolice should deal with than mean in suits.

:/

While fantastic sensationalism, there's no basis in fact there, is there?

No there isnt, but facts are conclusions made of evidence in black and white, we all know when things happen inside the mafia, its very rarely black and white, they live in a grey area and evidence or fact against there advantage always goes -missing-. Ironically, I have no proof to show this either.

I've heard stories, one was a girls car got stolen, it turned out she was a mafia mobsters daughter. The police investigated the theft but a day or two later had an annoymus phone call saying the theives were in some garage, the police arrived to check it out and the men that stole the girls car were nailed to planks of wood on the floor of the garage offering full confessions.

They have their own politics in the mafia which play off the laws and morals of society to get ahead. If they want that guy to dissapear he'll end up in jail, if hes needed, he'll get free.

What fact do you need? He may not be entirely correct, but he is partially. Examples abound, just look to UK business for one off the top of my head - BAE bribing the Saudi Princes in order to gain weapons deals...

Corruption *is* everywhere, he is entirely right, but not everyone is corrupt of course and that's where his argument falls down.

Don't be so quick to dismiss without thinking things through ;)

Whilst all this may (or may not) be true, to dismiss the capture of one of the most wanted men in the world as something that the mafia wanted is selling the police a little short IMO.

Take some of your own advice.

Oh totally agree there, but thats life, thats the mafia, thats organised crime. Im not disagreeing with you at all, it could be a genuine catch (tax evasion or something, the usual downfall of a mobster), but with the mafia you never know. I was merely pointing out that an heroic capture by the police could very well turn out to be a waste of time or merryment due to the level of corruption and how many fingers the mafia have in god knows how many pies to get him out, or it may of been to their advantage to have him put away. As much as we all like to believe they do, the law has no control over the mafia and other corrupt or organised crime organisations.

Money makes the world go around and the mafia has allot of it.
