Simple question guys,

How have you found the noise levels of the GT so far, i'm going to be getting the superclocked one and i was hoping any could shed some light on whether the stock coolers have the ability to ruin the atmosphere of a game such as Bioshock, when under load?

I hate the sound of a fan storming ahead at a million and one rpm! :(

60% fan level = not really noticeable
80% - 100% fan level = sounds like a mini hairdryer and is noticeable

To be honest it's not really loud even at max.

They are totally silent, only sound like a drill for about 4 seconds when you first switch on, then they fall silent and stay silent, even underload, just like the GTS/GTX.

Hmmm mixed responses so far... Do the zalman VF900-CU's fit on them, i have one on my X1900 XT, and i swear i read somewhere that they do...

Found this vid on Youtube of the noise of them, don't know why everyone saying its fake on there, as ive got a GT, and when you first swith it on, it is like that 70 odd dba at the end of the vid for about 4-5 seconds, then it falls silent, and never gets that loud, mine hits 80+ underload and still silent.

Same here. Really depends on how quiet your rig is.

Rest of my rig - 2x 120mm Ambers @ 1400rpm / Tuniq Tower @ min / Seasonic S12.

I'm running 1000rpm Nexus fans all round with an Akasa 500w PSU so mine is very quiet. The card was silent at 20-30% to my ears but it increased dramatically at anything over that.

You know that WKD advert, where thy guy asks for the drill, and his mate starts firing it away while doing the robot, thats like them when you first switch on, the old FX5800 leaf blower, thank god they fall silent and stay silent, as id be getting shot of mine if it ever went that loud.:D

My Asus 8800gt is very quiet. Everthing at stock ATM. Ran DIRT at ultra quality for an hour and heard no increase in fan speed. I am sure the P182 helps also.

I did have the "squealing" issue whilst installing XP. I pressed/flexed the card slightly and i could get it to stop. Seems to have sorted itself completely now though. :D

It'll be silent, thats just first switch on, dunno what temps it has to get to to get that loud, as mine hits about 82 underload, and its still as quiet as my GTS was. :)
