Are the 8800 Ultras worth the money i want to upgrade my GFX card money is no object really. also what PSU is required to run one of these?

Thanks

If you're not adverse to overclocking then you'll easily match an Ultra with an OCed GTX.

Personally I wouldn't bother with either, and get an 8800GT instead. I imagine you'll hear a lot of this. :)

What resolution do you game at? If you like to keep money for other things then get an 8800GT, if not get an 8800GTX then clock it to Ultra speeds ;).

get a gt and then just use that until the new cards come out :) even tho you say money is no object the small increase in performance over the gt would just be a waste

If money's no object, then get a factory overclocked Ultra (OC edition). That'll kep you going until the 9800's next year.

Since a GTX DOES NOT have Samsung 0.8ns (rated 2500mhz DDR), you wont be reaching same Memory clocks without serious mods, and AFAIK the GTX still do not have REV 3 Cores.

I always see people saying I OC my GTX to Ultra lvls...
But if you can OC a GTX, why dont you OC and Ultra that has better Overclock room and cherry memory and OC to Ultra-Ultra levels that any GTX can achive...... :D

Because it costs over £100 more for utterly minimal returns? :p

Edit: Actually I've just seen some for ~£30 more than the GTX but they're "cheapies" and not from etailers I would consider at all reputable. The only one whom I would consider half-way "a big company" I've had nothing but bad dealings with. So if you want an Ultra from anywhere decent you'll be forking over £400+.

at this point in time get a 8800GT and wait until the 8800GTX refresh, if you asked 6 months ago then an 8800GTX it would have been.

I use a 22" Samsung screen i take it the GT will run games like crysis on max settings nicely
nothing can run crysis on max setting nicely atm but you would be able to run it on high nicely at that res
LOL, good one. :D ;)
That made me chuckle also :)

If/when SLI is supported in this game then I imagine you could get a decent gaming experience at HIGH/1680x1050/40-60FPS in Windows XP with a pair of *Phat* 8800 somethings!
