Hi guys!
Its my 30th...ahem 21st ;) birthday soon and I'm looking for present inspiration. I probably have a couple of hundred budget (...maybe a little more) but I can't make a decision on something cool to get. Now, I'm into my electronic gadgets and I think I would say top of my list at the mo is a new stereo as mine is ancient...perhaps something like the Onkyo CR515 DAB mini system but I just can't decide if thats the best thing to get.
Your help would be greatly appreciated OCUK!

Ok, I have the following:

Nice big LCD TV
IPod
PS3
My PC is above average spec but more than enough for work I do...I tend to only play Day of Defeat on that.

that's about it really. The only thing really ageing is my stereo I think and I am well into my music.

Your voting for something he already has ? :p Sounds to me like he really wants someone to spec him a stereo !

Oh crap lol. I thought he was listing 'What he has' as in whats been recommended to him. Thanks for pointing that out :D

I'm hoping to get a track day or something similar for my birthday. Drive a high-powered sports car, or a tank

yep, my TV is HD. I got the lovely Hanspree 32" one from this very site and I'm pretty chuffed with it.
Great for the PS3 but you can't beat a 32" monitor for your PC running on DVI. :)

Anyway yea, perhaps a stereo similar to the one i put above or somthing cool I'm not thinking of

iPhone
iPod
PSP/DS/Wii
Satnav
GPS (The handheld type for walkers)
Hifi
Computer parts (endless list here...)

What have you got?

You could get a 32" LCD TV for a little more from OCUK...

I'd go Hi Fi as it is a present you'll want to keep a while and good HiFi lasts a lot longer in terms of keeping up with the modern competitors than gadgets like phones and TV's. If you get a phone or some Pc bits they will need replacing within a year or two but good Hi Fi will sound competetive for a decade.

Pick a budget and get the guys in HI Fi sub forum to spec you a system

The Dell and Apple 30 incher with stupid resolution™ ? :p

Go for a projector though. The one piece of electronics I own that girls are actually impressed by. Everything else their response is "So?"
