About time I posted this, it's been an ongoing project and I've just kept adding to it.

I think i've come to the end of the road with her now and she'll probably go up for sale in the near-ish future. I'll be very gutted when she does go that for sure.

The suspension has sorted the handling out incredibly, even if it is on the stiff side being coilovers :p It could still do with some strut braces but i'm not sure if i'll get these if i'm not going to keep it for that long. I'm gonna enjoy the car until the beginning of next year and then it'll be on to pastures new.

On a side note, obviously the calipers were painted red with the silver wheels in mind, do you guys think I should keep them that way or repaint them another colour? If so, which?

Heres the full story for those who care - it's a pretty much an essay written for another forum who haven't seen the car at all ;) :

It was an totally standard, excellent example when I bought it around two years ago and ive tried my best to look after it the best I could and it has been cared for regardless of cost with regular oil changes.

I soon caught the modding bug and added a Mongoose full system exhaust with decat (courtesy of Skywalker) , and shortly after I put a Tanabe Limit AX 4-2-1 2.25" exhaust manifold on. Certainly freed the car the car up a treat. Also stuck an ITG panel filter in too, but it wasn't a great fit and I soon sought to look for a better alternative. Heres some pics of it at that stage, along with some clear repeaters I fitted, and painted calipers:

I've always been a fan of looking after my car's paintwork, and I porter cable the car once every 9 months or so, to keep the paintwork in top shape. Always use top compounds and high quality waxes. This was the result of the first porter cabling I did whilst the car was fairly standard:

I then took a step for performance and got an S80 Integra Type R gearbox fitted, very kindly by Mr Boma23 of HR fame. Made acceleration a lot better and it made the car "how it was supposed to be" in my opinion. Probably the best mod I've done.

I then removed the whole air intake system including the resonator and fitted an ITG Maxogen Carbon CAI - again due to being highly acclaimed. Around the same time as a gimmick I fitted a Honda push button start from an S2000. I also added some Magnecor KV85 HT leads and some 8000K HID's:

Pic of the engine bay at that time - please ignore the dodgy earth. Was temporary at the time:

Nothing changed much for a long while, due to going through the final stages of uni. Lately though, I managed to find the time and money to finish her off.

Picked up these for a tidy price :D :

Yes they are real :P and they weigh next to nothing! Also look fantastic when dirty, proper dark Bronze colour:

Stuck some Falken rubber on them and then ordered my suspension. :D

Unfortunately, at this point my manifold cracked and had to be replaced with the stock manifold. I have this waiting to go on, but I need to get the lambda sensor port welded in first:

Finally, I got the suspension fitted along with some grooved disks and green stuff pads, and this is how she currently stands:

Wow, looking great mate!

I really wanted one of these before I got my Octavia vRS...

Getting pretty rare to find a nice one too (well when I was looking).

Looks great, really like the car as a whole :)

Slightly OT: Why have you edited the numberplate out on all pics bar the first and sixth one :p

EDIT: And the one in the dark.

Thanks for your comments guys, it's taken ages to get done what with the setback of the blowout I had and of course the constant stigma of being a rover :p

Argh! You're right paradigm. Damn, oh well, theres nothing I can do about them as i'm at work. I'll leave them up.

I know, but unfortunately it comes with having chinese blood :( :p :D

Not usually a fan of that shape Civic, but I love it mate, looks fantastic. TE37s are just sexual.

Thanks mate, I think TE37's are the wonder wheel - pretty much suit anything they sit on - even old Rovers :p

Nice Rover ;)

j/k, I get that all the time :D

Don't we all ;) It's a Rover in a skirt :o

It's a.................... porter cable

It gets used infrequently but gives fantastic results.

Just out of interest, what would one with a spec list like this go for?

To be perfectly honest - I really don't know. Not many get sold with a teg box attached, but its too much effort for me to remove it and to source another S9B box - so it will go with the car.

The car in my opinion has everything, I believe, that makes it realise it's full potential aside from braces and major engine work, and the next owner has a great platform to build on should he wish or an excellent example to keep as stock.

Basically, i'm going to push my luck with it when I put it up for sale, I and the Southern HR guys know how meticulously i've cared for it, and how much time i've spent on it. Every major mod, has been carefully chosen and deliberated over at length. Nothing has been slapped on. It's also had more Castrol Edge in it than most cars would have in a lifetime :p

I also am deliberating whether to sell the Rays with it - I really do think it depends on what sort of price I get interest at.

That's one of the nicest civic's i've ever seen, beautifully understated.

Thanks mate, means a lot - keep an eye out for it if you are still around Brighton ;)

My ethos for modification has always been subtle and tasteful - something i've hopefully managed to create here.

Thanks again for your positive comments guys.

I really need some negative comments now so that my head doesnt get too big.

How about the wheel nuts? Thats a good place to start - or perhaps the caliper paint choice? :p:D

Love it mate.

Keep hold and enjoy it for a while. Would be pointless selling it now. Keep it and run it while saving. :)
