Girls that say 'mate'.

All scouse girls use the word mate & lad

no they don't :)

Oh and hate it when people say 'babe and 'darl' and 'hon' although even worse is when they do it via email or on MSN or something and spell it 'hun'. 'Hon' = 'honey. 'Hun' = Atilla the Hun. Not particularly something I'd want to say to a friend!

Round here everyone (well especially my friends and people I know from going out) finish every sentence with "lad".

I'm not going to say it's annoying 'cos they've got me saying it too, but if I actually tune out of the conversation for a bit and actually listen to what people are saying... it sounds well stupid :p

"Alright lad?"

"Yeah lad, thee?"

"Aye lad."

Maybe it's a Yorkshire thing? :p

I say mates mainly as a collective for all the people I hang around with.

However, I am terrible for using pet names alllll the time! :D I've always done it as I am really bad at remembering names and it's just stuck. I use different names for different people, and kind of have a rank of names :o If someone actually worked them all out they'd probably realise exactly how I feel about them by what pet name I call them! :D

The may as well call you "Person I am never going to have Sex With!!!"

I'd say highly unlikely rather than never :p That's due to it could be a number of reasons, including that the guy is taken!

"Hello you ugly ****er, I'm calling you by a cute name to mask how ugly I think you are. How are you doing? I don't really give a toss, but I'm asking anyway"

Not at all true!

Now you see I tend to treat dude as a uni-sex word it seems to me that dude can mean dude and dude can also be short for dudette.

My Dad calls me mate but then it seems more natural now I'm 21 and living away from home. It's less like he's in charge now so mate seems more appropriate if that makes any sense whatsoever :p

thats ok it's the ones that do it to their 4 yr old

"look at me, aren't I a modern dad, treating my kid as an equal" :p
