I've just read that because of the writers strike in Hollywood they've created an alternate episode and if the strikes go ahead it will act as a finale?

Is there any chance of that happening or is it just scare tactics?

Heroes' second season may be coming to a close a lot sooner than expected due to the forthcoming apocalypse, also known in some circles as the damn writers' strike.

Sources confirm that the show is going back and shooting an alternate ending to the Dec. 3 episode that, if used, would allow the episode to function as a season finale in the event of a strike. Originally, the episode was only supposed to serve as the conclusion of the current "Generations" arc. Should an 11th-hour agreement be reached and a strike averted (fingers crossed!), the alt ending would likely be scrapped.

In related news, the reality of this whole thing is only now hitting me. And I'm not happy.

I'm looking forward to season two :(

I like watching Heroes but if it ends early I will just find something else to do for that 45 minutes. It's only a tv show.

Yeh apparntly getting cut short this series.
Assuming the writers strike lasts for so long that they run out of scripts to shoot, I'd prefer to have a concrete ending to the season rather than leaving it dangling in the middle of a story arc. So I think filming the alternate ending is a reasonable thing to do.

I guess once everything is resolved, we'll get the second half of the season (possibly called S3) while hopefully not having to wait another whole year for it. Again, all depends on how long the strike lasts.

Well apparantly they are reshooting the december eps to round the show off with an ending rather than leave it dwindling with a midseason cliffhanger.

Season two was originally suppose to consist of 2 volumes that would each take up half of the season. So at least if it ends for the season at the end of volume two, that's still alright

I saw something about the ending being dec 3rd the other day but kind of didnt believe it, but in all fairness series 2 so far hasn't been nearly as good as season 1 was

Agreed, its a shame really. If the guys at the top would actually recognise the writers giving them these great shows maybe this strike wouldnt have happened. Instead they take as much as they can from them and avoid telling them the truth at every opportunity.

Wow, bad news if it happens. But i have to say i totally support the writers strike!

It's picking up the pace again, much like last season...

Wouldn't bother me. Season 2 has been bloody awful; they should be embarassed by the way this has gone down hill since the first season. Such a shame.

Did you watch the last episode? Episode 7?

It was absolutely brilliant. I remember season 1 starting off slow too. You can't say it's going down hill when the story hasn't even kicked off yet.
