When I built my first ever PC (many Moons ago) I had a set of 3500eb platinum's fail at stock, so I e-mailed OCZ to find out what to do. A guy phoned me the same day and went over loads of different things to try and help me get it up and running, even talked me through a bios flash!

He could have just got me to RMA but the level of help I found amazing and it was just really nice of him...it turned out to be "Bigtoe" which had me pretty dumbstruck.
 
Been having a fiddle, got the reaper to go at 850 5-5-5-12. If I try to tighten these to 4-4-4-12 I cant get beyond post and I'm told warning! and to lower the cpu speed and fsb, ideas? cpu @ 3ghz.

I'm still a total novice though but this is a lot of fun to learn :) cpuz pics, this look ok?

what are your current voltages memory, cpu.

have to ask have you updated to the latest Bios? Think the latest was/is P31 for 680i chipset

need to ask this what is the batch/ FPO number of your Q6600 on the box it will say L701XXXXX

the reapers your using epp to 2.1v?

have you bumped the memory voltage a notch (not exceeding the recommendation)

The cpu voltage can be upped a notch as well

Although overclocking with 4 sticks in comparison to 2 sticks is a lot more trickier

I can't ratch the box out now and I'm not even sure I still have it. Is it important to find this number? What advantage am I seeing from upping the voltages further? I have two sticks of memory, I have the 2x2gb enhanced bandwidth sticks(or do you know this and mentioning it purely to give me perspective? :P it's late)
 
giving you a perspective. Dont worry about the FPO yes its late. Reset your motherboard. reset memory with stock timings. Unlink them. Disable speed step ect as in guide. Re start your overclock with cpu only tomorrow from fresh. I have a feeling you will obtain a better o/c this way. Catch up with you tomorrow

As far as memory goes, should I be looking to overclock the speed or tightening the timings? where would I see most gain.
