Ah crap. HDMI tv, dvi xbox360

Im in quite a pickle, iv just bought a new tv, but it comes with 2 hdmi slots and no dvi/computer monitor style slots.
Is there anyway around this, like some sort of convertor(would that lose lots of the picture quality?)

Edit: how are you carrying the audio ? if using separate system ignore me.

Not at all. DVI is identical to HDMI except for the lack of audio

The 360 doesn't do DVI output unless I've gotten confused here.

360 no DVI.

VGA only.

You need nice new HDMI 360.

Are you using HDMI or D-Sub (VGA, not DVI) output from your 360?

Wait, so can i or can i not get a connector?

I have a regular xbox, which has a pc monitor style connector. My tv only has HDMI slots(those skinny little connections)

Then you use D-Sub not DVI. you need a new 360 to use HDMI.

I would be surprised if your TV didn't have other connections as well- does it have component (separate R G B inputs) you could use?

Okie dokie, think things are getting a little confused here.

1. I thought the connector was called DVI, it is not. So lets forget about that

2. I was told that the pc monitor stlye cable gave better picture quality than the component cable. So i would like to connect this to the tv. But there is no slot for it. Can i get a convertor coupling to change the lead from the pc montior style to a dvi head?

Most HDTV's come with a 15 pin VGA connector, are you sure it doesn't have one? It must have some sort of PC input, whether it's D-Sub or DVI

None, two scart, 2 hdmi, s-video, then some coloured round component connections.

Then use component for your 360.

Any analogue to digital converters will lose a lot of quality.

COMPONENT = high definition (red blue green)
COMPOSITE = standard def (red yellow white)

Component will give you high definition.
