Good review, thanks for posting. Think i'll be waiting for the actual next-gen cards before I upgrade. None of them really give a boost over my o/clocked gts.
 
Meh, ill take a GT every time over the more expensive GTS with it two slot cooling solution, the GT beats it in some games and in most its only a few fps difference.
 
Surprising how easy it gets whipped by the GT! TBH I had hoped it would beat the GTX in higher resolutions.

If there is anything that will make 8800 GT owners a bit more smug about their purchases, this is it :D
 
Would have been nice to see the normal 640mb GTS in those benchies. Seems like a pointless card to me. Just makes things more confusing for an unsuspecting buyer. Just three companies trying to shift the remaining G80 cores before the refresh in a couple of weeks. On top of that i expect they will be even more expensive than the normal 640mb GTS.

Yeah but wait till the new revision GTS comes out. I guess that will be closer still to the GTX and may even beat it. Higher cores etc.

Good point, I missed the bolded and underlined warning h/c had put at the start of his post, and was thinking this was the new G92 GTS :D

Yeah, exactly. Manufacturers simply trying to shift some old cores.
Definitely not worth buying.

Very true even if you got -£20 on what you paid for your gts your still looking at £30-£40 + to get about 10-15 fps more than a clocked gts am waiting for the first card that can deliver me crysis completely maxed with ease.
