**CALL OF DUTY 4 MODERN WARFARE**

Got it early, honestly? This game is brilliant. Far better than CoD2 was at release, I can't fault it really! I thought it was good on the 360.

It's good imo, but:

Cod4 > Crysis (as it looks worse on low settings than cod4 @ low) > UT3 > All mp steam games.
Sorry but these days I do care if i can play something at more than 800x600 without spending €€ on a new gfx card. Games that look worse than 2 year old games on low settings < Games that look better that 2 year old games on lowest settings.
Only nice casual sp shooter so far with modern non fantasy weapons from what I can renember.

I just ordered mine, I wasn't paying over the odds for it at Steaming Pile.

It's not Steam's fault - Activision set the prices, even on Steam :( Are the authorities in this country ever going to act against this price-fixing cartel?

hopefully my copy will be with me tomorrow. I absolutely loved Call of Duty but CoD2 wasn't that great in my opinion. I heard 4 is more like the first than the latter. The perks are great too.

I've just finished playing and its exactly like cod2 really, has the same feel. Not that that's a bad thing because I love cod2. :D

It's not like CoD2 to me at all, I hated CoD2 because it took players away from MOHAA (muhaha). It does feel like a Call of Duty game, but a very good one. The graphics are brilliant, better on the PC than the Xbox, definately. Multiplayer is also better on PC for obvious reasons ;).

been playing it a bit today and i have to agree that it really does feel a lot like cod 2. It looks very good, but there's no doubt that crysis looks superior and just feels like a far more advanced game.

When you kill someone in cod 4 it doesn't really feel very satisfying. I can't put my finger on it - it may be the blood effect, or the sound effect...it just doesn't feel like your bullets have much impact (although most of the time it is one or two shot kills...that's not what i mean).

Still a great game though and easily an 8/10 for me thus far.

Don't be a muppet! If you don't want to pay the set price for a game then don't pay it. We live in a free-market economy, and having the Government intervene in that economy is not in anybody's best interests.
