8800gt crysis edition

I liked the look of that as well.

Maybe for xmas.

Is it true that the because of the GT the GTS & GTX are being re-released with whatever magic powder has been sprinkled on the GT to make is super fast?

Yeah the GTS is getting re-released on the same 65nm process as the GT, to be faster, and with 128 streams like the GTX instead of what they have now 96, and a faster refreshed GTX is coming out after that sometime, as now the original GTS, GTX and Ultra are all worthless due to how good the GT is, and is priced. :)

Am I right in thinking that the 65nm version of the GTS will debut this month?

And for someone doing a brand new build, is it worth waiting for a few weeks so, to see how the new cards fare, or should I just plumb for the GT now?

And yes, this was the most blatant hijack since, well, you know when ;) Apologies!
 
I'd be suprised if the GT can run Crysis flatout 16AA all Ultra high @ 1680 x 1050. Anyone suggest otherwise? A superclocked Ultra can't run CoW at full whack so the 9800 has got to be unreal.

Yeah the new GTS is due the 19th supposedly, so could be worth hanging on for, indications are that it will be faster than the GTX we have now, and be priced around the £250 mark.

No card out can run Crysis flat out with 16xAA at ultra high settings, cards to do that are a long way off, as Crysis is about 2 years ahead.

I run it 1280x1024, everything high, except Post Processing which i have on medium (all it does is that stupid blur, so no biggie), and i average just under 44, perfectly playable, even in major action. :)

Yeah, I don't expect to be able to run Crysis flat out for some time, but as I had originally budgeted for a GTX (back in September), it sounds like the new GTS will be worth having a look at...

I can't help but find it silly that there will be some 8800GTS cards that are slower than the 8800GT, and some (the new ones) that will be faster. Seems absurd.
