i see what your saying, but if you were injured and had to take time off work and couldnt play sport or drive ect, would'nt you want some compensation??

ive been in a fair few serious accidents, in the back of a car, no seat belt when an old friend parked it in a ditch at 60 odd. i was a bit stiff the next day, i was fine, maybe im just a bit more hardy or something (i honestly dont know)

i am therefore so cynical about these claims.... ive worked in defendant insurance litigation for years, ive seen lots of it, all the blaggers under the sun.

and to answer the second part of your question, yes, i would claim compensation, because its easy money.... after putting up with all the rubbish over the years from these other blaggers, i may as well get some of the cake too. i know how to

Ah so it was your fault then this evening.. Only joking.. I hope you get is sorted an you are ok.

I am very concious of people following me on the M27 these days as I've had a number of near misses. Had one chap pass me on the central reservation to avoid stuffing me up the rear. Lots of smoke from the tyres and a very sheepish driver sat there..

Is it really that hard for you to believe that there are people a bit more honest than you are? Well I hate to break it to you, but thankfully there are.

Its not hard at all no, especially since I've met Fox in person at various motors meets and kept him company after a little misshap one time. Im pulling his leg amongst other things, playing Devils advocate. You are breaking nothing to me.

Purely depends on if you've been brought up to be a money grabbing, insurance fraud kind of guy I suppose.

Nature over Nurture :p

Of course. If you are actually injured and suffer financial loss this is exactly what compensation is for. The problem people have is with the blaggers that feign a whiplash injury after a 5mph collision and try to grab as much money as possible.

Totally, the one independent witness in my incident has been threated by the other parties brother. Sadly for him i know he's on probation and have other people willing to testify for witness intimidation so i'm praying i can get him sent down and the claims dismissed

Tehehe, nah pulled off just before hilsea roundabout within about 4 seconds of me being hit.

Phoned up insurance today and tried to get them to sort it, have got the other guys details but they want me to phone up direct line and sort it myself? surely this is what I have paid my insurers for to sort this all out for me? Or do I have to do the chasing?

I had a bad neck for a few days. It went away.

My mum was hit head on (well, he hit her front drivers side wing) by a van.

She was in shock, but nothing was wrong with her. 6 months later she began to find it increasingly difficult to turn her head to the right, and would wake up with phenominal pain in her neck, and right shoulder.

Since then she's been making regular visits to physio, to help reduce the pain, and she's on medication too.

In the short term, there was nothing wrong, but long term is a different story.

Not ALL cases are fraudulant.

Well just been to the approved bodyshop and have been told they are going to replace bumper and number plate light, and take a further look underneath when they have the bumper off, as well as a lovely courtesy car to kill :P

We all pay a lot for our insurance, when the opportunity rise’s why not claim a little back.

Not to mention the fact that when I did phone my insurers they wanted to pay my excess then claim back from the other party, so just went direct to them. Dunno what the hell I pay them for if I have to do all the chasing.

Ok, I am going to ask the question that if you were only doing 15 mph ish in the motorway traffic then how come you had to brake quite hard, were you doing the same as the driver behind you and not concentrating then, as surely at 15 mph you should be able to stop from the car in front of in a reasonable time without causing the driver to jump on the brakes cause you did not see the car in front stop and you hit the brakes hard, then you got to take some responsibilty for causing the situation as well as the driver behind.

On the other side of that coin...I was in a rear end shunt a few years ago and did not claim,i had a stiff neck for a few days and thought nothing more of it. Last year i had a scan for a nerve problem in my shoulder and it picked up arthritis in my neck. Consultant said this was most probably caused by the whiplash.

Well I was braking from about 30-35 at the time, but the accident happened at about 15mph, as the other driver got some speed off, before he did hit me, I guess I wasnt concentrating properly, but no I'm cant take any of the blame because I didnt hit anything :D and I let off my brakes slightly when I saw him coming so could have been slightly worse.
