Ok, Im looking at spending a small fortune on a gaming laptop from Rock.

But I was thinking - will I have enough time to be playing games and stuff on ship? Like, are there a lot of activities to do? Would I even think about playing games when Im in the navy?

Dont really know what to do - so basically, if anyone was in the navy, would you tell me what you did in your spare time please?

(apart from interacting with seamen...)

:p

You see, the stuff in your sig makes no sense to me whatsoever, and the fact that you feel the need to share this information with the rest of us suggests to me that you are a gaming nerd (sorry, I mean 'addict' or 'fanboy' or whatever the acceptable term is).

lol :) Nicely put.

Anyway its his gamerscore from xbox360

Well, not really. I like playing games, but I dont live on it. Compare my score to some of the others and you will see I dont play it too much.

As for it being my sig - well, tbh, I just wanted a sig.

When you are not deployed it's a 9 - 5 Monday - Friday job, so I'd say buy it!

Granted you will probably be doing.... other things..... but it's nice to have the options to game once in a while :p

I know a few people in the armed forced (all of them, both UK and US) and they all find time for gaming - hell thats how I know them!

Go to the NAFFI for drink with your mates, go to the gym, study for your role/promotion/self improvement, spend time with your colleagues work mates, immerse yourself in books and the environment you've been based in - tbh I doubt you'll have that much time to play on it. why not see how you get on first?

As long as you can play using headphones, otherwise you will disturb your messmates; you won't get a private, en suite room when on board.

The down side is that the laptop becomes an easy target for thieves when in a "concrete frigate" too.

I'd leave it until you are used to life in the service and then decide.
