Just Noticed Pre order For New G15

i have had a V1 for a while. keystrokes were cheap feeling and the black paint on the keys rubbed off after extended use. i replaced it with a razer tarantula and its a bit better but still the best keyboard i've had was a £15-£20 cherry- the first keyboard i bought years ago

Logitech replace the ones with fading keys for free. They fixed that later on with a different type of paint. Can't say about the keystrokes as mine feel much better (softer) than previous keyboards that I've had and used.

interesting. i doubt they'd replace mine now as its grubbier than a tramps breakfast

I might swap mine if I can get a good price for my V1. I prefer the orange and the shorter length would certainly be very handy.

May be up for one of these.

I liked the original g15 apart from its size, as for blue, thats soo last year, orange is where its at now ;) lol

I love these keyboards, I love the features available. I just cant game on a keyboard that is not ergonomic. Ergonomic keyboards are so much more comfortable to play on, pity really!!

why waste money on a keyboard i dont know i game on el cheapo ones and yes ive had decent ones dont see the point. a decent mouse yes thats worth it but not keyboards.

Well to be honest it is more outside of games that I have noticed the benefits from the G15 I recently got. The keys are a bit more.... tactile/spongey than my previous logitech, meaning that I can type slightly faster. The LCD display showing cpu/ram usage is nice (saves having to use a windows app) and the volume dial is very slick.

I've not even bothered using the macro buttons as yet, but they are probably very useful for some games like beat'em ups or RPGs.

It also looks very cool!

I used to have a similar opinion to you, in fact I don't think I've ever spent more than about a fiver on a keyboard until last week. But at the end of the day, no matter what you have 'under the hood' in your pc, it is the peripherals that you interface directly with - monitor, keyboard, mouse and headphones. I've spent around £225, £47, £37 and £70 on those respectively for my current setup.

Saitek Eclipse for me, i think all the special features on the G15 are just a gimmik so the price can be racked up to extortionate levels.

Why spend £58 on a keyboard when u can spend that money on a nice set of 2gb RAM that actually increases performce. Some people have more money than sense

What's to say you can't have both? I bought 2gig RAM and the G15 at the same time! :)

Like I say, there's more to a PC than what you score in a superpi bench or whatever. I'd agree that someone chugging away on an old single core cpu with 512meg RAM would be better off spending their money elsewhere, but quality peripherals can make a nice finishing touch to a rig.

Heck, most high-end graphics cards depreciate by at least £50 within the space 6-12 months, and a good keyboard will last longer than that.
