I have been looking at options for using my ipod in my home and I have looked at this

http://www.digitalstores.co.uk/mini...p?productPK=unittest-ijTaOcCFlZuFfwTzqN3IEb-1

(Dont think that this is a competitor but please delete if necessary.)

It is a ministry of sound hifi with Ipod dock.

The question I have is... are they any other options other than this that are rated?

Dont want to spend much over £150 if it can be helped but still want valuse for money and good sound.

For £150 I would opt for a second hand Stereo setup. Get a decent amp and speaker package.

Then connect the ipod to one of the input's on the amp. Belkin do an OK cable which is ipod style/colour for £10. Much better cables can be had but I don't think you would notice much difference playing MP3 off of an ipod.

EDIT- Cambridge Audio A5 is about £80 second hand then a decent pair of bookshelf speakers. Won't set the world alight compared to some other systems but I don't think you will better it with an "ipod system".

that would be my choice tbh but ............ this decision is led not by me but my missus who thinks small all in one's with ipod dock look nice therefore best. Looks like I will have to work on / educate her a bit more.

Whip sound...

darn right it is.

Im lucky that I have had control over every other electronic / gadget in the house. This is the one I have to admit defeat on as I dont really feel the need for one but if Im resigned to getting one I want it to be good value.

She thinks an ipod dock looks nice?

Mmm, tacky white plastic which shows dirt easily or tacky glossy black plastic that shows dust easily.

yes I know the cons of such a thing however the one in my link is an acceptable style I was just after alternatives.
