Probably been answered many times before but how much voltage is safe for an E6600?

It’s water-cooled with two 120mm radiators both out of the case pulling cool air and I’m just off to lap it.

So far I’m at what my sig says with 1.46v reported in speedfan and its maxing out at 60C

1.57v here, drops to 1.47v under full load.

i agree with the above, as long as temps are fine 1.65v should be fine for everyday use as the vdroop will knock it down quite abit when its under load playing games and such

So we are all talking about the setting in the bios and not what's reported in windows with regards to voltage?

Just lapped it and temps are about 3/4 degrees lower. Maybe will come down a bit more when paste is settled.

What is too higher temperature and measured by what? I know different programs report slightly different temperatures.

There is no voltage limit really as long as it's within temperature spec - keep it below 75 deg C at full load measured by CoreTemp.

When it gets too hot the CPU will automatically shut everything down anyway...
