Will an 8800GTS 320mb on 1440x900 make me a happy bunny?

I have decided rather than invest in another x1950 which would be kind of fruitless, im gonna invest in hopefully a Huntkey 500w PSU and as long as some lovely person has one at the right price on the MM around xmas, a 320GTS..i really would love to spend £140 inc. the PSU

would this card max out most stuff on my native 1440x900 without issues (obviously crysis not included lol)

any chance on earth of that £100 dream happening, GTS' seem to be holding there value well atm :(

I'd say the price will drop to nearer £100 for the 320mb GTS by around Xmas, the GT will no doubt drop a little bit in price soon after the hype's died down and ATI will have their (hopefully cheap) competing products.

return to castle wolfenstein for a month it is then lolol

you reckon that will be new price did you say ?

what power PSU's are people getting away with on the 230mb cards?

Yes it will,
I run 1440x900 and everygame i had tried was fullymaxxed out apart from AA and AF had to lower them slightly, also cysis wasn't on Ultra high just high and that was fine too.

I had a 1440x900 TFT when i got my GTS. It ran everything at native res very well indeed, most hings maxxed out, even bioshock

just lookin at my ENERMAX PSU box, its a 380w but the 2x 12v Rails are 16A and 15A = 31A

that run a GT/GTS?

I don't know if i would recommend the 256mb version of the 8800GT. I have a feeling that the vram will cripple the speed in shader intensive games at that res. I would go for at least the 512mb one to be honest, which can be had for not that much more £££.

Easily.

256MB should be fine for 1440x900 TBH, was for me.

Not sure i think i would go for the 512,if there is a difference between 320 and 640 in some of the latest games i think there will be between 256 and 512, looking at the oc's 8800gt there is £25 between them i think it worth it to get the 512.
I play at 1360x768 with a 320 and it starting to fall behind the 640 quite a lot on the latest games with setting at a lower level to the 640.
