Rugby for a beginner, advice please.

Well i've found a club close by that has A teams and B teams etc, they train on a Tuesday and Thursday. Might give them a bell or go along one training day to have a word with coach.

Sounds good. Be prepared for some hard work, especially in the winter as it can get bloody cold when your out training at night. Also gets cold when playing in winter, little pair of shorts and a shirt on in the middle of winter!!!:p Reminds me of when i played on boxing day and having to shovel the snow off all the lines so we could see where the pitch was. :D

bah...i'm from Newcastle, we don't feel cold man :p

You will probably get popped on the wing to start with, untill you show them what you can actually do.
Be prepared for a flogging after christmas though, trying to make you loose all of your holiday weight or so they say lol.
Good look, i've been playing for a number of years at different levels, love the game:)

I would give them a phone. It would be better to be expected especially as it could not be on one day.

Rugby is a good game but not as easy as it looks. Get your basics right and focus on your defense more to start off with. Tackling a 20 stone bloke is a big ask but always remember the golden rule:

"High you die; low you go!"

Works for carrying the ball as well ;)
