TV Stand - Which setup do you prefer?

Howdy,

I am experimenting with different TV stands. My existing one is this one:

Was ace, had storage for all my AV gear and leads etc...

Now I have tried to minimilise it a bit and tried one of these:

Looks sweet, but I am thinking my original one probably was a bit more practical.

Whadda u think?

same tele as mine I think,LG 32 LX2R isn't it? I definitely prefer the glass aswell,I like your floorstanding speakers too,they look like dvd shelves!

Yup same TV - still very good compared to ones on offer now.

They are only DVD shelves honest, the speakers are in the corners of the room ;-)

Glass looks much better, find storage else where.

Also you need a skirtingboard

Def the glass one, although if it fits put the centre speaker on the upper shelf to get better sound.

I have a glass stand though similar to pic 2.

Looks almost the same as my alphason TV stand, although I went for the clear+silver version as my TV is silver/black, + mine is the 'big' model for taking the size/weight of anything up to a 60inch TV (although it looks fine with a 42 on it)

As already said, move the centre speaker up a shelf, and have it at the front of the shelf, not pushed right to the back, it will sound much more open, and bring the tweeter closer to being in line with you... Not like your feet need good high frequencys!

If it wont fit on the narrow shelf (Although it looks like it should), you can assemble the stand 'kinda upside down' just reverse the spacers so the wide shelf is at the top, and the narrow shelf at the bottom.
