When you own both an Xbox360 & a PS3 which one do you choose to buy your games for ??? and why ??

(this is only for the same games that are out on both formats)

360 hands down, even though the controller is personal opinion, the online play is better and the ps3 is notoriously bad for ports and multiplat games.

Multiplatform games I'll always choose the 360.

a) the titles generally perform better (framerate wise)
b) the online experience is better
c) the controller is better
d) achievements!

Of course, this is just my personal opinion.

PS3

Less noise + I like the PS3 control pad more.
If its a game I really want ...Say GTA4 for example I'd buy the lead version over the port no questions asked.

I've gone for the 360 version every time so far.

I might get Assassin's Creed for the PS3 due to my 360 currently being away for repair. I'll also probably go for the PS3 version of Burnout Paradise as it's looking like that will be the superior version.

Snap, I got my PS3 at launch and every multiformat game I've bought since I've got for the 360. I'm working in Ireland atm and 360 games tend to be slightly cheaper here as well.

PS3 mainly because the picture quality is clearer and better via hdmi than component or vga which just looks washed out on the tv.

Also online is free and refuse to pay for live on principle and yes i know all the arguments about how good it is I have tried it.

I can't see how you can see a difference connection wise from HDMI to VGA/Component especially for the naked eye?!

I can easily on just comparing the demos offered on live and on the PSN. This may be TV specfic but that's the way it is my case. It's a toshiba 32"Wlt66 and find it handles a digital signal better than analogue.

The reason why i asked this question is because i have owned a xbox360 for between 12 to 18 months and i have just bought a PS3 last week....

So now i need to workout which format i want to buy my games for my PC/xbox360/PS3 hmmm!!

Some games are better on one platform other games on other platform ( for multiplatform releases)

Most of the recent games have been similar

Some games like Dirt Oblivion are supposed to be better on the Ps3, others like vegas on the 360.

I don't think there is any general rule tbh.

FPS PC if your hardware can run it. eg i'd get cod4 for the pc if this computer wasn't obsolete already (only 2 years old). Read the reviews for the rest but it doesn't really matter too much. People will nitpick and find the smallest detail to claim their console is superior over the other but frankly i'd doubt it's not as bad as its made out to be and i'm pretty sure parity will be achieved once people get used to the hardware.

The fact UT3 is running so well on the ps3 confirms my suspicion that the consoles are at least equal in power. It's reached the stage now that you can buy either one of the two HD consoles and be perfectly happy with the current selection on offer. I envy the ordinary members of the public who are blissfully unaware of the fanboyism rampant on the internet and just enjoy the games on offer for their platform choice. Sometimes ignorance is bliss.

I decided a few weeks back, that from now on any multi platform games that I buy will be for my PS3.
For too long it has been neglected, now is it's chance too shine :)
Started with COD4 today, and will continue with GH3 in a couple of weeks time.

Vegas is better on the PS3 imo, looks and feels better (yes i've played both) - That is unusual for an early game though because other games such as The Darkness are not as good on the PS3 as they are on the 360, GRAW2 is another example of this.

360 at the moment. only time when that's not the case is when the ps3 has an earlier release date in america due to region unlocked. if they start region locking then it really will be 360 unless i notice a rise in quality in the ps3 multiplatform titles.

Xbox360 mainly because its more popular and most people i know own one. My PS3 gets all the Sony games/exculsives. Out of the two i find the xbox is better for LIVE enabled games and more of a community is going on but have IMHO found the Sony inhouse stuff/exculsives to feel more polished than the best of what the 360 can churn out. I feel that the PS3 has a lot of catching up to do as a community based console which hopefully HOME may achieve but it just feels as if this side of things are rather "just tacked on" rather than the seemless nature of the 360. Also prefer the 360 controller which is more suited to FPS and driving and better triggers, again hopefully the new PS3rumble controller can sort that out. Also find the 360 a better media device with Windows Media Center and a PC. Don't like the XMB of the PS3 either, looks naff even with the new themes. Blu-RAy or HD-DVD couldn't care less as i never use either or don't own either formats for film watching although seeing the PS3 has it built in i'm more likely to buy a Blu-Ray movie and was impresssed with the free Casino Royal that i got 1st time round. And then achievements, love them or hate them they do add to gameplay expericence, its nice to see it popup on screen.

2008 is going to be the PS3 year, either it will succeed or fail and right now i'm still not 100% certain where Sony is going with the console although slowly things are getting better, its just this time Sony do have a major rival console breathing down their neck which they ain't used to and atm IMHO it is struggling to compete, the coolness of the brand "Playstation" seems to be not so cool and the 360 seems to be the "grunge" console, lol that everyone loves or hates or "loves 2 hate"

anyway thats what i think

PS3 every time - just prefer the way it works, the quietness of it, the controller and it seems to look better on my tv than the X360 (which looks better on my bedroom 26") even though I dont have a decent amp in there
