it is very possible that it is just me, but pc games seem to have gone down the pan :( - sure there is the odd one that comes out every now and then that'll spark an interest, but i just think consoles are where its been at for a long time...

in fact, i am in the process of selling my pc and laptop to get a macbook pro for doing all my work, and using the leftover money for a pc3 or 360, the only reason i have a powerful pc is for the gaming side, a macbook pro will be more than capable for all my photoshop/illustrator work etc.

the last game i really bothered with was quake 4, and i lost interest in that after about a week :(

maybe its just me.

I haven't played a game in over a year... and the two years before that maybe a total of about 20 hours of Unreal Tournament over 10 sittings.

I have far better things to do with my life that waste whole evenings playing games. The real world is significantly more interesting.

There are a lot of brilliant games out at the moment and plenty more to come, i was losing interest in pc gaming and bought a 360 but now that is just collecting dust along with my wii, my games of choice at the moment are TF2 and COD4, try a few out, you will be surprised how good they are

Pc gaming hasn't been this good for a long time

yeah maybe thats it :(

then again, i dont think that entirely the case cuz when zelda came out i FOUND time to play it on the wii :)

and i know no matter how "grown up" i may be getting (only 24 by the way), metal gear solid 4 will be getting my full attention on ps3 :D

I only tend to play on-line against friends (talking enabled) and by fiends I mean real friends that I will also see in the pub! Monday war night!!! (sad I know, girlfriend made me add that bit)

maybe the case, but i just feel like over the past 10 years i've had my fill of fps games, the only one that grabbed me due it it being different enough to the rest was far cry...

it was a different story a few years back playing lan games but that was in student accomodation and all that :)

I have replaced drinking with gaming.
Still have a tipple when there's a big night out though!

Personally I still play a lot of PC games, certainly a wider variety than 5 years ago. I got my first new console in over 10 years this year, but I've only played on it a couple of times in the last few months.

The main reason why I don't game as much as I used to is simply the lack of available free time. I'd love to play more but I have too many other commitments at the moment. PC gaming is one of the reasons I'd never get bored even if I could retire today.

I'd get a 360 or PS3 if there was much to interest me on them but there isn't, and there are plenty of great PC games to play! :)

Oh and I think the OP was about console or PC gaming, not whether we are wasting our lives playing games. If you are to 'grown up' for gaming then why look in this section of the forum....

Looking at some of the names who have posted in this thread, I have a suspicion it was probably originally posted in a different sub-forum (e.g. GD) and then moved here.

I'm considering doing the same thing tbh, my main gaming PC only gets the occasional game of TF2. There's a drought of decent PC titles that's for sure. My 360 definitely gets more use than my PC for gaming.

I play on both the PC and the 360 :)

I much prefer all my FPS' games on the PC than the 360.
Sports games will always be on a console now though.

What are you talking about? This is the greatest month for pc games in a long time. CoD4, Crysis, Gears of War, The Witcher and episode 2 if you want to stretch it a little are just a few I can recall off the top of my head.

its a hobby :D ****** cheap to. What else gives you the same entertainment to hours ratio?

I think its a golden age for games as well.

PC gaming provides me with more entertainment than my life atm, sad, but true

and stops me going to the next best alternative, excess alcohol

I still find the best platform of them all to be the PC. I've got a PS2 myself that I've had since Xmas 2001 and used loads, and I've got access to my housemate's 360. Some games do work better on the consoles (GTA, for example) and of course there's the exclusives, but given that I tend to find myself playing FPS titles most of the time, the PC wins by far.

Might consider getting a PS3 mid-next year when MGS4 is around, but that'd depend entirely on how much money and time I have.
