Owners that have both 360 & PS3...which one do you buy your games for

Yungstar you trying to troll?

Why should we have to pay for a game and then pay more in order to be able to use all the features? Its not boding well for the future.
You seem to be the kind of person that microsoft love, throwing money at them after being blinded by the "its on £3 a month"

It wont be that for long, the price will go up as people for some reason seem to want to pay it, even though microsoft can easily afford to run an online system at no additional cost to the customer

Recently I find myself only buying exclusives on both consoles. I dunno why but I have just stopped buying multi-platform games.

My last few games bought were:

Forza 2, Halo 3, PGR4, Heavenly Sword, Ratchet & Clank, Tekken Online.

My next few will be Mass Effect (360), Uncharted (PS3) and Haze (PS3).

Exceptions are I bought Lego Complete Saga this week on PS3 (not heard of any differences in versions and online is co-op only so works same on ps3 or 360).

Bought PES2008 on PS3, prefer the controller, but as Bonjour says, a mistake in this case, unless it get's patched soon the lag is deffo worse on the PS3 version.

Microsoft live costs about 76 pence per week which is peanuts for the service you get.
If you shop around you can even get it cheaper than that.
I would like to bet if sony had a live system as good you would be happy to pay 70 pence.
To me this generation is all about playing games live on the internet and not so much about fancy graphics.
We have had the great graphics on pcs for a long time.
70 pence is not a bad price for the best service available.
This is also one of the reasons why most people on this forum are saying they buy most of there games on the 360.

Don't get me wrong here I have both consoles and enjoy them both, but I am seeing more and more people from here slowly beginning to move over to the PS3 camp.
My PS3 friends list has never looked so active either.
I think the last month, with the price drop and 3-4 top notch games, added in with the christmas period will be a pivotol period in the PS3's history.
I think the PS3 has turned a corner and that can only be good for all gamers :)

I hope you are right as like you i have both consoles.
The only problem i see with sony is i cant see them ever getting a system as good as microsoft live.
The microsoft system is totally different to sonys as sony rely on the game devs running servers for there own games so i dont think you will ever be able to chat to a friend who is playing a different game to yourself.

Thats not my point though! I can play every PC i want for free online, apart from a few online RPGs. So what you're saying is that you think its perfectly acceptable for you to pay extra for the service to allow you to play the game you just spend £40 on to its full potential?

Can you not see that people like microsoft will keep pushing the boundaries as they are already with charging people to play gears of war online on the PC.

Every other manufacturer can manage not to charge, not microsoft

generally its which ever i prefer the controller (as you'll see below gamerpoints dont mean much to me)

i.e FPS on 360 wins hands down... but skate and PES i chose the ps3 as i prefered the controller (even though both run better on 360 )... i also got NHL 08 on the PS3 as i wanted a new game for the PS3 as the dust was starting to gather.

in fact i think my 360 is starting to gather dust rapidly as i dont use live that much and the only game that i play is bioshock and tbh its good but do believe its more linear then they claim, if they just classed it as a normal FPS i wouldnt be to bothered but its the hype thats made it somewhat of a letdown... and its still not as good as Condemned!

my main problem now is that most of the games that interest me are coming out on both consoles and the only exclusive that intrests me is drakes fortune but i have to try it out later after i finish work and have some sleep... if this continues i may have to get rid of my 360 :(

I want to buy for my PS3 I really do, but the Xbox always seems to get it. I think its partly I'm so annoyed I spend so much cash on the ps3 at launch haven't had much out of it that its gonna take something huge to get me back on board. I'm just waiting for Final Fantasy...

You can count me as one of them. After an extremely disappointing Halo 3, I don't really see anything on the horizon for 360 except for Mass Effect.

True, as far as future exclusives go it's hard to think of too many for the 360. But we're still getting multiplatform games that perform better on the 360, it's nice to have the choice.

oh please, stop being so bliddy stupid, it has nothing to do with trolling at all. just a simple fact, for £3 LIVE is a bargain and i'd not use stupid words like "principal" for not paying it, when the hardware through to the electric you use to run it all is not free.

Why should we have to pay for a game and then pay more in order to be able to use all the features? Its not boding well for the future.

i wonder, do you drive a converted gas car so that you pay less fuel tax or use a bike instead? perhaps a cheap car instead of say.... a Ford?. your TV, is it a 14" black and white job or perhaps something better?. your house, do you live in a tent or perhaps a property of a value of say £90,000 or more? what do you use, SKY TV, Cable or just plane old 5 channel analogue?

is the point i'm making sinking in yet?

It wont be that for long, the price will go up as people for some reason seem to want to pay it, even though microsoft can easily afford to run an online system at no additional cost to the customer

ah, you have something against MS, now i understand. you don't mind paying for one or more of the things i mention above, just Microsoft product.

end of story. i rest my case.

i wonder, do you refuse to pay for the better processors and grafix cards to run those games, or is that extra price you pay to play them games on line for free a cost you magically overlook every time you try to say the £3 a month cost of LIVE is wrong?

We'd all like Live to be free, but for the service it provides £3 a month/£40 a year isn't too much to pay imo.

When Sony provides exactly the same service for free, then MS will have to rethink the pricing.

I think what Sony need to do is release some kind of official mic that the majority of PS3 owners would buy, it would be a lot easier because as you say everyone is using something different at the mo.

They should have done that from the begining and bundled it with the console IMO, there is nothing more annoying then playing a team based game and you're the only one on your team who has a headset.

OUCH!!!!!!!!!!

You have to pay to be able to play the PC version of gear of wars online

I hate to see other game companys follow this...(As i look at how many different PC games i own that can be played online...)
