Great Weekend of Boxing **SPOILERS**

I believe he can do some serious damage in the heavyweight division when he moves up it's a weak division anyway and he'll be fighting at a more natural weight for him, his power and speed could bring him a world title sooner rather than later.

Having said that wouldn't it be great if Warren and Maloney could sort something out and get Haye and Enzo to lock horns in a domestic world unification slug fest

But you also have to remember that although Haye could do some serious damage, they also punch a lot harder than Mormeck, which will be Haye's undoing I think.

As for an Enzo fight, everyone would love it, but Haye has always wanted to step up to heavy, so I think it's a no no.

Yeah true he gets hit too much and if he'd been fighting a heavy tonight he probably wouldn't have got up from that 4th round!

I do think he'll be a different fighter altogether at heavy though.

It does sound like that Enzo fight isn't at all likely as Haye won't do it at cruiser and Enzo won't do it at Heavy, maybe in a few years time.

Quite a good fight that one. Stamina was always going to be an issue for both fighters and I'm just glad David won.
I do think Enzo would beat him though, unless he kept his right hand up.

I'm not a big fan of Haye going up to heavyweight, lets not be under any illusions here, if someone like Samuel Peter or one of the Klitschkos were to hit him, he would be in serious trouble. I think he could win a few fights up at heavyweight but the champions (as poor as they are at the moment) would most likely be a step too far.

any idea when the cotto-mosley fight will start? i know the thing starts at 3 on setanta, but will there be undercard fights?

I'm struggling to stay awake for this. Hope it's soon.

Edit: Mosley for the win!

Haven't seen many back Cotto, so I'm going to say Cotto to win just to go against type. :p

You do realise that Cotto was the betting favourite for this fight?

Nice performance from Cotto which had Mosley baffled on what to do. I had it Cotto by 2 which seemed to be in line with what the judges had it.

Hopefully the winner of Mayweather/Hatton will fight Cotto. Really don't want to see Margarito get a title shot after beating a complete mismatched fighter.

Hadn't even checked the betting odds. The number of people I saw back Mosley for the fight was far greater than those I saw back Cotto, which is what I meant by going against type. I fancied Cotto to win anyway, take it he did?

I've only just watched the fight, as I fell asleep.:o

A good fight, with Cotto deserving the win by a couple of rounds and a fight with Mayweather/Hatton would be very interesting.

One thing that annoyed me though, was the commentator calling him Codo all the time.

I know, their pronunciations are strange. Well, I went for Mosley on points but didn't see Cotto holding up this well against the bigger man. Perhaps Mosley didn't plant himself and landed as heavily as he could/should but it sure looked like he did.

Great fight, Cotto gets better and better. Hard to see many people but the very quickest/hardest beating him at Welter.

Can't say I heard that :p
I was struggling to stay awake so probably wasn't paying much attention to the commentators.
I did doze off half way through the Casamayor fight but I don't think I missed much there.

On the subject of commentary, I thought the commentators for the Haye fight were useless! Loved the "An intentional headbutt is different from an accidental headbutt" or something along those lines.

Thats why Col Bob Sanders is reduced to King vision and will never be a mainstream fight analyst.

Total Mormeck nuthugging. Mormec throws 4/5 punchs in a few round and haye landed with 4 times that amount yet he says its a very hard round to score! He should review the judging criteria before a bout!

Just got back from the Haye fight. My first live boxing, though I now think it won't be my last :) My friend had a spare ringside VIP ticket and offered it to me for free.

The French crowd were really up for it last night, Brits were totally outnumbered but the noise we made when Haye put him down more than made up for our small number. I managed to shout myself horse during the last round. A good night out.

Oh, and Paris Saint-Germain were staying in our hotel as well, didn't recognise any of them but the locals certainly did.

Now you're one lucky toerag.:p

Glad you enjoyed yourself mate, I know I would have.;)

Jones Jr to fight Felix Trinindad early 08.

Anyone up seeing this fight, just for the names involved. Can't help but think it's a little pointless seeing Jones Jr so far past his best though.

I really don't see the point in this fight to be honest.

Jones is way past his best but even he isn't as shot as Trinidad is.

The one sided beating from Hopkins really damaged him IMO. Then Winky just humiliated him in their fight which can be said isn't a disgrace but still he looked to have nothing left.
That was at 160lbs where he didn't exactly look ripped, going up to fight Jones is suicidal IMO. What is Jones going to weigh on the night of thefight? 190+ most likely.

Jones should win this one easily, I can't help but to think that there will be some 'drama' in the fight just to keep the fans interested.
