you want one of these, make sure its a DVI-D to HDMI cable

I've used VGA and DVI (DVI is the same as HDMI but without sound) it's exactly the same.

DVI-D and HDMI both carry digital signals, where as VGA is only analogue. Picture clarity is generally clearer and colors are more vivid on something that is designed to use DVI/HDMI rather than VGA.

edit: you could try the bay, theres loads on there pretty cheap.

Ahh well, after using my 360 on HDMI there was zero difference there at least, as for the PC I'm sure it'll be the same story. :)
