Overclocking GFX Card.

Haven't overclocked a graphics card for a while now. Like the overclocking guide in the sticky for cpu's, can somebody give me an easy guide to follow. How much to up the settings by, and how long and what with to test for artefacts.
I noticed now that I have gpu, memory and also shader sliders in Riva Tuner.

the shaders the first thing to move up, then the core, then the memory. I'm not sure whats the best process though, I havn't really had the time myself. But beware of ATITool, its a bit dodgy by my experience! Stick with RivaTuner and then run 3Dmark 06, if you get no artifacts, increase your levels. It'll prob take you at least a full day of testing before its rock solid. for example, I thought I had it fine until I played a game for about an hour, then I got wierd artifacts and stuff in STALKER. I'd plan to have it all done by wednesday! depending on how much spare time you have, its takes forever!
 
I didn't know the shaders were the first thing to do. I kept the shaders the same as core speed when overclocking.

I might increase them now to see.
 
that guide is extremely basic, apart from the fan stuff. its best to aim for shader, and core first, then budge up memory last. its not a case of doing them all seperatly and then adding them all together at the end, becasue if you put the core particularly high, the memory will not overclock as much as if the core was lower. BUT, core and shader have a much larger impact on your GPU overall speed, dont worry about having a slightly lower memory overclock if it means you can put your core higher.

My GTX got 14530 2DMark 06 score, with stock memory timings, (see my sig)
 
I heard that on a guide to overclocking, hmm, I prob shouldnt be giving out advice, I've been using ATITool and have just found out that its not the best tool to use as it keeps artifacting even after you lower your clocks back down to a reasonable level, ignore me!
 
3DMark 06 & Riva Tuner. Jaggies on screen means the ram is too high, corruption on screen means core/shader is too high.
 
Stock cooling the core and shaders I clocked together up to 662 stable IIRC, ram to 1105. I clocked them in 10mhz increments.

With better cooling I did the same until I found the max for the core, then unlinked the shaders and went up 50mhz at a time.

Current benchable is 762/1942/1105
 
pap, just got rid of ATITool, and used Rivertuner to try stock speeds with 921 memory, and it crashed instantly, thats a pretty shoddy card I've got! I'm just going to put my core up to what I can, and leave the memory at stock, if it fails, then I'll just put the original cooler back on and RMA it. I've not been able to increase the overclock on my 8800GTX since buying my HR-03, shame...
