Hullo,

Just been watching Snatch on DVD on my 360 and about halfway through the movie (scenes 14 and 15 if you're interested) I get an "attempting to read media" message and it won't play. I had to eject the DVD and select scene 16 where the movie continued flawlessly.

The DVD is brand spanking new and this is the first time I've played it. Never had this problem before, but admittedly I've only watched a few DVDs on my 360 which is why I'm worried it might not just be a duff DVD or something. Is my console dying? Help!

It's the 2-disc special edition of Snatch if that makes any difference. There's not a scratch on it, like I say, brand new. And of course, legitimate. Is this a known problem? Perhaps with dual-layered DVDs? Seems like halfway through the movie might be the transition between layers? Does the 360 not like layered DVDs or something?

Anyway, ta!

The games are on Dual Layer DVD's so that counts that out.

Does sound weird....

Try a few DVDs in ya xbox and see what goes on. If you get that error message from a lot of your other DVDs, take it back to where you bought it from.

(Only take it back if its under a year old. The 3 year warranty only applies to RLOD failures)

I've had this problem a few times when playing pretty scratched discs. As the disc is brand new and unscratched, it's hard not to think the problem might be with the laser itself.

I'm quite happy with using the 360 as a DVD player, I watched Jurassic Park the other day, which was scratched and wouldnt play on my standard Xbox, But the 360 cut straight through.

So no complaints here :)
