AC7 Pro still best £15 and under cooler?

Will do.

The 'easy to fit' part is true in a sense. It doesn't touch the north bridge and isn't too close to the RAM, its a very compact unit, but the LGA775 push pins are a bit of a pain (whats new) and I can't seem to get all the pins through so I don't think its making good contact with the CPU. Might have to take the MOBO out to fit it properly. I'm going to give it another go tonight but If I can't get them in it a disassembly job this weekend I'm afraid.

Well I've finally done a modest overclock on my e2140 with the Akasa AK-965 cooler and I must say for £12 or whatever it costs it not a bad little performer. I've got my 2140 at 2800mhz (350 fsb / 8 multi) and its sat at 32c idle and seems to level off at about 57/58c under Prime blend tests both cores fully loaded and thats with the 965 at full blast (near 3000PRM).

At full whack the cooler was making a bit of a rattling noise yesterday, it was driving me mad. I've since tightened the side doors on my PC (must have been loose) and the noise is a lot more acceptable now.

The good thing is my idle temps seem to be coming down (not tried Prime today yet) because I think the Arctic Silver 5 is still settling in so i think there is still some headroom left to push further.

For £12 its a great little cooler.

There are mixed reviews about those two heatsinks mate. Different sites have their share of opinions and on this occassion the Coolermaster won however other sites differ and go for the Artic Cooler 7... by all means they are both the same anyway apart from a few modifications.

I am currently running the Artic Cooler 7 just to get things going on my E6600 however looking to upgrade second quarter next year, probably Quad Core with Noctua. The AC7 is great for what I am doing with the dual core but Quads are a different matter :|

I am only a modest overclocker, so the Arctic Cooler 7 was perfect for my Q6600 G0, which has a VID of 1.300v so it is not exactly the 'coolest' of G0's.

Vcore of 1.4v in Bios (1.352v in CPU-Z idle, 1.258v under Small FFT Prime95 load) and an overclock of 3.2ghz my hottest core is hitting 59 degrees which I'm very happy with.

Granted, should I want to try to overclock beyond 3.4ghz and keep good temps, I would have to go with a TT or T120 Ultra Extreme, but seeing as I'm not even utilizing 3.2ghz yet, the Arctic Cooler is a pretty good peice of equipment for £15.
