http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-254-AS&groupid=701&catid=5&subcat=808Which mobo's support crossfireX then? X38 chipset? Or are they a particular set of mobos?
I ask as I'm needing cpu/mobo/gpu to complete upgrade and might be worth getting one 3870 now and then another in a couple of months.
Edit - just done a quick google. CrossfireX appears to be 4? That would work out at over £600 for four of them... 'Slightly' more than an 8800 Ultra indeed![]()
seems a lot for a 256mb imo
The pricing in my eyes is fantastic, 3850 Pro gives 2900 Pro beating performance and can clock too 2900 XT 512 performance.
Question.
Can i run 2 3870 xt on a Asus Maximus Extreme Intel X38,reason i ask is these cards have double slot cooler`s.
I would expect people that want to be running at high res to be able to afford the extra for the 512 meg cards.
OcUK GeForce 8800 GT 256MB - £146.86
HIS ATI Radeon HD 3850 Pro 256MB - £123.36
hardly good price/performance on the 'Pro
I was expecting these at ~£100 even with us getting shafted on the exchange rates, but ~£120 is about a 33% mark up on the RRP ($) + VAT.

Yeah i agree, i was expecting way lower to, HIS 3870 = £170, yer can get a GT for that, now if as Gibbo says these are same performance as the 2900's, then you'ld be a fool to buy em over the GT's, as the GT's destroy the 2900's as they are GTX performance.![]()

slightly faster, 4-6fps. because of the clocked at 775mhz..No faster than 2900?
Whats the point in them then?

So if I sold my 8800GT and got one of these I'd be downgrading at best?
