Tekken 5:DR Online Ass Whoopin, Arrangin, Thread (PS3)

god i so wish i had a ps3 just for this :(

is this out yet and have people tried it online? whats the lag like if there is any?

After u left rp2000 i bet that guy using asuna? so thats 3 wins now and 'cough' 20+ losses

I think I need to work on practising with the new joystick. I could have beaten him I reckon with the normal controller, but I couldn't be bothered to swap controllers back. I will be back online tomorrow.

You know I was just thinking the other day that Tekken Online is the first true system seller for the PS3 in my eyes. If I didn't already have one, I'd be scrambling to get my mitts on one just to play it.
Personal opinion obviously, but I'd imagine a lot of people share the sentiment.

Online Street Fighter is going to be the killer title for me, but this is brilliant in the meantime.

it would be if it werent for LAG.

even on tekken, which has little lag, there is enough to screw the game up a bit and reduce the actual experience in contrast to a 2 player game on 1 console.

on a game like sf2 thats going to be a killer:/

I have the odd fight where lag is an issue, but it's quite rare tbh.
I generally stick to '3 bar' rooms where the host is British, oh and I've noticed Swedish hosts are usually fine too.

P.S. I was working on my jugggles last night, you're ALL in trouble now!! :p

I was practising a few of the moves, I've got most of the throw combos back in my head. But I then realised that you need one of those arcade pads that rp2000 has.. its pay day on friday so I'm going to invest ;)

Bargain for £17.99. Sadly after not using a stick for Tekken for a few years, and having practiced on the pad last week or so, I can do more stuff on the pad then the stick!! I am used to sticks with 6 Face Buttons, whereas this one has 8.

I think I will be online practicing tonight so if anyone wants a few easyish wins, while I get up to speed, now is the time :D

What gets me is the multi button press for moves, just slowy getting uesd to them but still cant string a same button press combo as i seem to be too slow, may just have to resort to button bashing.

problem i'm finding with the pad is some of the more complicated throw combos start with triangle + X or square and circle... you have to put your hands in positions men are not able to do...

That's where I get stuck, however I have each shoulder button on the left mapped to the two throws. so you could press one of them and the third face button.

On the arcade stick you use 3 fingers.

Do what I did with mine, get 2 button plugs for 65p each, problem solved :)

I take this back entirely, I've not found a lag-free match all night and it's ******* me right off!!
Not to mention that every time I win a match in a room, the host kicks me!

yeah I've got that but in a slightly different arangement, l1 left throw, l2 both punchs, r1 right throw and r2 both kicks..
Personally I think thats the best way to play with a normal ps controller, I used to have th xbox arcade pad and that was ace, programable as well which was always handy for them ultimate damaging combos with U rugal and Shin Akuma...

on another note King has a ground brakingly damaging throw combo which i intend to master over the course of the weekend.. How do you brake these again?

Used to be punches that broke this, but I am having trouble finding definitive move lists as there is Tekken 5, DR and the PSP version which I think have some variations in them (different guides lists different amounts of moves), also in Practice mode I can't see which button presses I have used (graphically) like in older practice modes, so sometimes it is hard to see which button triggered which action.
Anybody up for a session tonight?
I'm beginning to think you're all avoiding me because you're afraid of my silky skills! ;)

I think I will venture online today.

I'll be around, though still havent learnt my new characters moves properly yet.

I haven't got room to add anyone else to PSN (stupid 50 limit) so I'm going to delete everyone and start again (I think a lot of people on my list don't even have a PS3 anymore) so send me a hello if your an active tekken (or cod4) player and i'll re-add you.

Cool, I tried adding you the other day, but it wouldn't let me because you're too popular! ;)
I'll try again later on...
