hopefully moving into my new place in a month or so.

planning as much as i can before i move in and one of the things i want to do is wall mount the plasma.

however being in the region of 80-90kgs i imagine this isnt just as simple as a 42 inch would be.

firstly i cant find any brackets - help please and secondly what would i need to do to the wall to stop it just dropping the tv as soon as its gone up? (plasterboard walls)

thanks. :)

I wouldn't hang a 63" Plasma on a plasterboard wall.

I can point you in the direction of bracket suppliers who will do brackets for this size and weight but as an installer I would't just whack it onto plasterboard.

I would take some plasterboard down, build a solid timber frame. Re-plasterboard/plaster/decorate and then fix the TV up.

Doing it this way also gives the ideal oppurtunity to run cabling in the wall and also you may want to recess the TV into the wall slightly, some people like to recess the bracket to the TV is more flush with the wall.

If you're going to the RR I am happy to have a chat about it all.

major ballache as suspected.

maybe just leave the tv on its stand!

wont be at RR as away for the weekend.

is there anyway of doing it without demolishing so much wall?

You could build the timber frame on the outside of the wall. May look a bit crap though.

OR

If you're lucky you will have studs (the wooden batons in the wall that the plasterboard is screwed/glued to) in the right place and can use decent fixings to attache it to that.

I find that a good quality stand that matches in nicely with the decor and then the TV on that doesn't look bad at all though.
