Hya guys, started playing around with my new mobo last night to try and get a decent, stable overclock out of it and need some advices on voltages etc as I'm a bit of a novice....
My full setup is in my sig and so far I've done the following:
Ramped up the FSB to 250 (running at 2250MHz with my 9x multiplier) and dropped the RAM multiplier so it was running at 750 - no problems with stability
Then I ramped it up to 300 (so it was running at 2700MHz) and again dropped the RAM multiplier (I think to 2.5) so it was running at 750ish - again no problems with stability.
Then I tried the FSB at 333 to hit 3000MHz and again dropped the RAM multiplier to get the memory running at the correct 800 - computer posted but Vista wouldnt load. So I tried to up the CPU voltage 1 level - still Vista wouldnt load - tried another level up and Vista booted but blue screened immediately and the mobo reverted back to the default settings! (I'm assuming it was some safety feature of the board!)
Can anyone give me some hints as to what I need to do to get a stable overclock at 3000MHz voltage and setting-wise???
Thanks for any help guys....
