Hardly, the only reason people ever call you up for being a fanboy is because of the rampant defending of the 8800gt for no reason.
You only have to look at the other 38-- thread to see it.

I'm not an NV Fanboy tho, If the ATi card is better then fairplay to ATi I'll sell me 8800GT and get a 3870 then everyone can call me an ATi fanboy :\.

I'm saying what I think and there is nothing wrong with saying, so the 3870 is same price as the 8800GT, and is slightly slower, this means the 8800GT is the best one tbh.




Can someone try that fix to get shadows back to normal in Crysis and confirm it does not give a 10fps hit?

maybe they knew they wouldnt have enough stock and hoped no one would realise untill it was too late :rolleyes: waits for will to post his findings tonight :confused:

Hmmm that is a bit dodgy. Nvidia are a bit silly to not just let the true performance of the card shine through. If it's not as fast in some things then that should be it. Not to cheat to make yourself look better :eek:. I'll be keeping my eyes on this and hope that a few GT owners will try this and give us honest results.

Already starting to look good mishima :D.
 
Its a strange one, they say the max frames drops from 30 to 20 so its the same as the 3870 when they stop the cheats, but if you look at their first bench on the page before with the cheats activated, the average frames has gone from 16.77 there to 17.56 when the cheats are turned off. :confused:

I really can't believe that Nvidia would do this with all the time they've had over the R600 release. Also an incredibly stooooopid move when the 38-- series are just about to be released. Just to think if they didn't get rumbled about this?. We'd all be going on supposed results compared to the real ones. I know this is only one game but who is to say that it hasn't been applied to more than one title?.

Seems like ATI/AMD have caught Nvidia with their panties at their ankles this time round :).
 
What i don't get is, it is cheating, you can see now why they were rendering the game incorrectly, to be faster than the 3870, yet everyone else says is it balls cheating, but optimisations don't render a game incorrectly to boost frame rates, or am i wrong there. :confused:

Anyway who cares tbh, its only Crysis, lets see the proper reviews, if it is around GT performance, should be a cracking buy.

If the game is ran the way it's meant to under the HD38-- cards but ran differently with the 8800GT's then yes, that is cheating as there isn't a fair comparison between the two cards. Anyone who disagrees with that then please give your reasoning as I'm up for a laugh :p.

I know it is, thats why i dont understand how its only 2 frames slower than the GT when the 2900 gets hammered off the GT, im awaiting Will's links to the reviews he's seen that show the 3870 to be only 2 slower.. ;)

gibbo already said it too. its slightly faster then the 2900xt 1gb which is only 1-2fps different from the 512mb. that what some of u guys are forgetting..

or is gibbo lieing. which i don't think he would..

How do you know this for a fact?. I'd take that from Gibbo as he has them but do you?. If you believed that these were the same as the 2900 then that's a fair statement but a fact would be having the cards and tested by yourself wouldn't it?.
